I was just thinking the same thing...saw him and Chris run a couple of times.

Those GSXR1000 powered outfits used to go past him like he was standing still, but he won some state championship on that old banger[8D]

This one is on ebay as a classified add for $ 5000.00
A Formula 2 may be the best value for Money though.
I will check with a few guys to see whats around

Damo,
What type of sidecar are you after- LCR -long wheelbase with rear engine you could easly spend $100000 but you would be at the pointy end of a race. Most of the guys use gsxr 1000 but any late 1000 is ok.There are no plans. You will have to come to a race meeting and have a look.If you are in Sydney I can explain the differences at a meeting.Give me a call 0413 833891
cheers Bones

I was thinking f2 shorty kneeler, with front engine( or the one you kneel over) not looking at spending big money just trying to way up some options at the moment wether to build or buy.
I've spoken to a few guys at the last couple of meeting i've been to and they recon you could pick something up mech in good condition but fair cosmetically for around the 3-5k mark. Is that realistic???

Damo
F2 is a realy good choice. You will learn more about riding than just using hp.If you are in Sydney who have you spoken to?I don't think you will get much for 3-5k.Maybe pickup a chassis for 2-3k which will need a lot of work then fit an engine-the later the better. You have to be careful with chassis as some are not much good.If you get a bike that steers well you will have a ball,if not you will have to fight it always
I know of 2 bikes in Sydney, both good, but they are both over 10k I think. How much can you do? welding?machening? Nothing is available off the shelf.I will help any way I can.Call me.
Cheers Bones

Yes mate mate i'm in Sydney, i've just spoken to who ever is willing to talk really in the pits?? Which seems to be anyone if you show an interest.
I can weld and fabricate anything prety much out of steel and if i need machining i'd go to bens and see the boys dwn there.
10k is a lot more than i was thinking though! I was loving the idea of around 5k, but was wondering about the building side of it??
Yeah i thought f2 was a good choice from what i'd seen and heard so thats where i want to go to start.

Next race is Sunday May 16 at Wakefield Park Drop down and have a chat with some of the guys if you can,

I'll have to see how i go, eastern creek is a better venue for me to drop in so when is the next meetting there???

20-04-2010, 10:12 PM
Damo
June 27 at Eastern Creek. PCRA meeting so all classes except classic will be there.I will ask around and see if any suitable chassis are about.Best to find one which was made by a known maker eg windle, mgf, peterbuilt. Some home built bikes don't steer very well. Women make excelent passengers.
cheers Bones

Hey Daymo
I've found a sidecar for you. Chassis only, used to have a tz750. I was the last one to ride it around 1990. It has been sitting since then. As I remember it steerad verry well. Would be an excellent chassis for F2. Call me 0413 833891
cheers Bones
