That was awesome. Where is that track err... road err... road-track?
brilliant!
yeah bloody great that is one of three tracks used or used to be used for long distance racing. originally was a 200 mile race similar to IOM. Billy mcconell who is an adelaide lad who won the virgin r6 cup 2 years ago said that the safety and standard of track in the uk etc are out of control!! imagine going into a turn like turn 1 at the creek but instead of a gravel trap having walls of hay bales instead!!! no joke!
I loved the first major turn they came to when half the field kept going straight instead of turning off...
those guys are fucking nuts.
bloody good vid
THIS IS REAL RACING[}]when these guys get bored with a track[:0]out come the empty kegs to create a chicane[^]the racing you see is from the "North west 200" seriesthat being the lead up to the "ISLE"[:0]The "ISLE" is just a meeting on the calender. My old man used to watch these guys b4 i was born[8)]no wonder he bandished me from having a push bike[}]
Balls of steel! those guys are pretty keen.
Now that's real racing, not the clinical track stuff of GP's.
I've been around that track in a car (not quite as much fun) 'cause my cousins live about 5mins from the "track". I've also got copies of the '99 and 2000 races on VHS.
Pity i don't have a vcr anymore.
more titanium than my bike
Fuckn hell thats awesome.
Just like a ASF fools ride nice.
That has to be the worlds craziest type of racing. Those guys have serious balls, and better yet, the skills to match! The church corner scared me just looking at it on the computer, can you imagine coming into that corner too hot? Ouch....
I love the way the commentators are really passionate about what there watching.
Back in 2001 I was working in belfast for three months and the north west 200 was on. Of course I went to see it fuggin awsome then done the Busmills distillery tour came out of there smashed after volenteering to be a whiskey taster then went to the harland? and wolfe welders club in belfast the next day and yep smashed again then went off to a pub/club in little place called hollywood outside of belfast smashed again and toured several small breweries and some how always became the duty beer taster and smashed again.
I liked Belfast
Her in Ireland we have a road racing championship
which i can tell you the roads are alot smaller than the nw200
and by fook do those guy give it stick aroud them.
Balls of steal
yeah...NW200 is like a track race compaired to the Irish Road racing...
the Irish lads race on farm roads, with big jumps, and tarmac that gets mullered by tractors and cattle every other week in the year.
thats why the Irish lads do well on 'the island'....its like Donington to them...
respect to them.
also
the NW200 is the fastest road race on the planet!...average speeds exceed 130mph..AVERAGE !!
rutter was doing over 200mph last year on his CBR1000....mental slip streaming at 190mph!
