My second job is my engineering business, I specialise in prototype work, and the difficult stuff no one else wants to do, and I am currently working on some of the products I had filed provisional patents on prior to my previous business going in to receivership. I have 4 axis cnc milling, cnc turning capability, edm, grinding, tig welding for titanium, aluminium etc, and access to high quality magnesium castings.
I ran a business in the uk in the mid 80's to early 90's building and developing race vehicles, and restoring vintage vehicles. I built formula vehicles (formula ford/renault/500) using proprietary chassis, but developed the motors in house. We built karts, rally cars, vintage and classic racing motorcycles, and prepared modern (at the time) race bikes.
We had 3 dyno rooms with heenan froude dpx1, 2 and 3 dynos, and built full billet engines to test new technologies (some of which can be seen on todays bikes
), we even had a full carbon composite chassis with hub centre steering on track running a 250 rotax tandem twin engine, and built numerous steel frames and swingarms for race use. Then I overstreched myself and everything went to shit
