Good Mechanic

Anyone got a preference for a mechanic for the Kat please. I havnt needed to take it in since Ive lived in SA (2+years) but i went around the other day and got responses like.

Kessner Suzuki "lol your fucken joking your bikes older than our mechanics" - when i appeared to be motioning to jump the counter he added "but thats cool I can see the attraction"... lucky lol

Same response from a few other of the majors...

So whats the secret, must be a good ol Big 4 motor mechanic still in existence surely ??[?]

its been difficult to find a decent mechanic of late. Racebike services used to be really good, but after Pete died and a new owner and mechanic took over, it's not been the same. Fubar in lonsdale are supposed to be good, depending on what you need done. kessners don't have a great reputation, I wouldnt take my suzi there. last service I had done on a bike was at SA Motorcycles at Gepps Cross, they seemed to do ok, and gave me a loan bike (a VN900, ummm, yeah, my sv is much better lol but it was better than walking).

yeah give ol mate at fubar a call he seems pretty ligit. and i have heard good things about the mechanic up at the garage, but i am not sure about the $$.

Revken when did Pete pass away? did the other guy stay in the business i forgt his name. Pete did all my work on the ZX7R when i was racing it. top fella

It was a few months ago he died, maybe 6 months ago? I don't think the other guy (Mark I think it was) stayed on, there is a pommie guy there now as mechanic, another guy manages the place. Ive had work done there since, it was ok, guess Im just used to Pete

Hey mate get in contact with Hutch he's on the site and lives just outta Kanmandoo.His ph. no. 0437910010. He does rebuilds, servicing, one off parts, damage repairs etc... He's a top bloke and he specialises in GSXR's so working on your Kat wouldnt be a problem

Fuck racebike services fucking dickheads, few weeks ago I had a spill on my ZX9 and I still ride it with some road rash. I called in for a chat and he basically shit canned my ride! Its the only bike I have. No fucking way are they having my cash

HRE can have my work. Peter was so good its a shame the south needs a good bike shop.

+1 for jim at superbike performance. he has been very helpful to me. hes a good tuner and engine builder too. ( built and tuned the donk in my supermoto race bike).
