not suer where but wont it just bubble and peel? Would you be better off just getting a sheet of carbon and putting a veneer over your can?

I tryed black book covering contact first and no prob with the heat,
my can flows so well you can touch it as soon as you get off and it's only slightly warm, the stuff i saw a while ago was a bit thicker than contact and should work better.

Try autobarn or supercheap auto, they might have something.

Digging up an old link here - dunno if Darn is still about or if he had any luck with the carbon wrap.

I'm thinking of covering my aluminium cans with carbon fibre to clean them up. Is this possible? Is this going to look shit? Will the exhaust temps kill the resin over time? If its going to be shit then I'm just going to powder coat them otherwise.

    What type of can?

Might be able to find a replacement sleeve in carbon.

I've actually got a pair of mini custom cans - so no carbon off the shelf for them.

I'm looking for more of a how to - am I going to have any issues bonding the resin to the alloy. Is the resin going to take the heat etc...

I'm thinking I'll just powder coat them tho - hiding the alloy in carbon fibre when they aren't real CF cans just feels a little to poser-ish to me.

I've had a set of cans wrapped in the carbon film when it first came out. Lasted fine till about 2 years later when I came off and trashed one of the cans.
