Nightrider '84 KZ750 LTD Shafty Cafe

bought the kz750 last may, almost a year ago. took it as an addition to a virago xv400/535 http://www.chopperweb.info/forum/sho...5&pagenumber=1 and paid just $300. 1 cyl was fucked up and seller said he couldn't have found spare parts, but i checked up evil bay, there were plenty, viseco kits, cam chains, complete engines, forks etc etc
so i bought it for restoration

an idea to convert the fugly chopper into smth more decent like a cafe race came in to my head very fast, just waqnted to do it without much effort but it never goes that way

the seat unit and tank were no go for a cafe, so i decided to use a modded tank from another oldie and to make a seat unit with hump matching to the tank

    sand blasted

    cut apieces

started to cut off numerous mounts

bought a gpz 750 complete engine with carbies, wiring and coils for $500, gunna use its cylinder block and pistons, the original kz's block is gunna be bored off for a big bore viseco kit and used for my other project. so one bike turned into two, story of my life!

buying and fabbing, the gasket kit, hardley pop up covers and custom made stainless fuel throats

the forks were pitted so i had to buy new ones

    megaphones

    the tanks widened

    modifying the frame

so much crap to cut off

    sand blasted

    made the seat rails

    a mock up

On my kat I did the below bracing - (I've added a bit to the traditional drawing at G - two extra tubes to make it a proper x-brace), and ran the bracing at A to the down tubes instead of to the end of the gusset at B.
Works well, if a little tight to the pipes at F

Nice welding, both of the thin metal of the tank and on the frame.

Not the most obvious donor bike for a cafe racer, but with your talent this one will look smart.

have you removed the cross section (horizontal) at F?
yup, i saw a 7/11 kat braced like yours, can't believe that a stock frame is so spungy?

Nope, kept the horizontal because the tubes at F and G are not quite in line - if they were they'd definitley foul on the inner pair of pipes.

hey albi russia and ukraine are just like australia and png, the 2nd 1 used to be a part of the 1st one but not anymore so let her go wherever she wants and get shot by a provoker sniper. and i wouldnt be envy to your mech coz the bloody ukranian 'gals' r famous for cheating, mind eating double-dealing prostituting cunts, also from my personal experience lol
and me is planted in moscow
