Gave the tank a quick sanding with 2000, then 3000, then polish, came up o.k for a rattle can spray job in the garage,

The paint job is not perfect and in spots there is some orange peel, but at the time I just wanted to get it painted and on the bike so I could go riding,

    Black Pearl is the colour,

Under tray adjusted and things rearranged to fit larger battery,

Brackets I made so the radiators could be moved back for clearance of larger CBR10000RR forks,

Right side case cover was cracked when I got the bike,

quick fix with some JB weld, seems to be holding up well, might see if I can locate some Carbon/Kevlar case cover protectors !?

Next job will be to fix these Carbon/Kevlar frame protectors,

few blobs of silicone should probably do the job of attachment,

outer layer of Carbon fiber, with an underlayer of Kevlar

Just had a giggle to myself when I saw your front guard. I had a CF guard on my VTR. On a trip to Philip Island years ago I accidentally (because to do one on a public road deliberately would be illegal) did a wheely and landed it a bit hard. The tyre squashed the guard into the radiator and tore it into three pieces, flinging the biggest bit about 10m in the air. I thought it was hilarious and kept riding, but someone behind me picked it up and carried it all the way home for me. I never could make all the bits fit back together.
    Anyway, keep the pics coming
If I had a dollar for every time I thought about you, I'd start thinking about you

Maybe it's lucky then I still have the side mount radiators !? One less thing to worry about , if I had one of those accidental wheelies I'm fairly sure my oil cooler is well out of the way . I actually don't mind the look of the side mounts, seems most people don't like them tho.

Last time the bike was up and running it had a stalling issue when the fan would come on at idle, since I ditched the Lithium battery and got a bigger 12 amp hr battery the idle stalling when fan comes on has stopped, so looks like the new larger battery has solved the problem .

Bike is coming together nicely, most of the issues I had are slowly getting sorted, since I swapped back to the Honda OEM mufflers from the Yoshimura, the back firing appears to have gone and the bike seems to be running better.

Front suspension may be set a little hard, so might have a fiddle around with settings.

    Quick ride this weekend,

went past Devils bend golf club,

40km/h posted sign at the end of the main road coming into a corner that intersects with a gravel side road, problem is that the gravel from the side road ends up on the main road , had the rear step out a little mid corner .

I have ridden just over 500 kilometres with the CBR1000rr front end swap and all seems to be going well,

I still have a to do list for the bike,

    fit CF frame protectors,

smooth out JBweld on engine case,

I'm not exactly happy with how the front looks, I would like the headlight etc more compact, closer in/lower and onto the forks, but for now I'm just happy to be riding again, so it will probably stay the way it is until I get time to modify and adjust things, the VTR dash is fairly large, so I probably need to relocate the ignition key and HISS to be able to move the dash in closer or get a smaller after market dash !?

I do have a RC51 front fairing and one RC51 headlight, I am tempted to pull of the Buell twin headlight and mount up the RC51 upper fairing with single headlight (endurance style)... but then it probably wouldn't qualify as a streetfighter then and you guys might tell me to fuck of to some other forum ... would possibly look good tho !

I still have all the parts for the RC51 swingarm swap, but time and money are short at the moment, so not sure when that will get done,

any way, great weather at the moment, so I'm just content to be riding for now, happy I finally got the bike going and front end swap finished.

Um, maybe call this a long term update on the front end swap,

its been around 10 month's and 3,000k's since I did the CBR1000 front end swap,

all seems to be going well ... chicken strips on the rear tyre virtually gone ! , so I suppose the new front end works fairly well then !?

    New Year, something different !

Had this RC51 fairing sitting around collecting dust,

    also had left headlight,

    thought I would do this,

old Firestorm windscreen fits with some minor modification, trimming & a few new holes drilled,

    wired everything up,

    coat of paint,

new front L.E.D indicators and L.E.D driving light for High beam ,

made a cover/fill in plate for the missing headlight and also wired up the positon light for the headlight,
