Tightened up and re-mounted a few things,
Bodged everything else on temporarily with cable tie's,
and took it for a quick "test".

Sitting back further and Higher and a lot less weight over the front..
    YEEEEHAAAAA !!!!!

Yeah Mate. Read my earlier post "Fairing WILL be lower"
Been on this site for a while Posting loads of crap and riding a stock"ish" bike with the usual boring bolt on sh*t, a pretty poor show.
Decided to Shut up and get my act together.
Hence the progress on "Busa's Evil Twin".
Maybe I'll have something worthy next year.
    Thanks for asking though

Busa Guard is fine on a stock bike,
all enclosing and hidden under the ugly snout.

I know it isnt a straight fit, but I realy like this
    GSX-R guard, a popular choice.....

Just not sure which year and models they were used on ??

90 - 92 as far as I'm aware. I have one on my 91 GSXR USDs. Shayno's making some fibreglass ones as far as I know.

Yeah will have glass ones in the next few weeks, and will be doing C/F ones as soon as we can buy the carbon fibre. As well as other glass bits and C/F pieces.

I could be interested (at the right price )
Either with GSXR holes, or blank to drill my own.
Might be able to supply you a Busa guard to get the mounting
holes if you wanted to be able to make them as a Busa "bolt-on" in the future?
although that markets pretty limited. Either way, im interested.

    Thanks.

Did a few boring little jobs today,
worked out which 3 bulbs fit the headlamp,
fitted Grips, fitted mirror mounts etc etc,

Though I would try and "dummy mount" the fairing at a better angle.
Got some cheapo Bunnings universal brackets and spent age's cutting and bending. All ended up in the bin [}]

Big standard steering damper across the bottom yolk means the fairing gets mounted to high, or stuck waaaay out front with a huge gap behind it. ME NO LIKE! Time for a re-think.

As the Horsepower will be going up and the weight going down,
and a lot less weight over the front im not keen to bin the damper (although that is an option).

Trick aftermarket dampers seem mount across/above the top yolk infront of the tank, again not an option with the new clamps/Renthals.

    Mine...

A possible idea,(Dodge's Busa) but im not keen.

    An idea's ?

How about giving yourself a bit of a geometry advantage by lowering the rear or lifting the front then binning the damper, won't be noticable if you mod the tail frame!

    Thanks Guys,

Yeah Booster, that would work and would still look OK with a raised subframe, although im not over-keen on slowing the steering down or losing ground clearance more than it is, still worth thinking about though.

Fimp, I hadn't thought of using a "straight-rod" damper infront of the tank. That might work. It was the Busa "rotary-damper" that I havent got room for. Like this...

Someone else just suggested I keep the stock damper and make mounts to try to space it down lower.

mate there is numerous aftermarket trail bike universal dampers that are designed for high bar kits.Best thing would be to take it for a ride without 1 and see what happens.I took mine off and never noticed the difference, but i put it back on due to mental reasons, not sure why as it has about 2 inches play before the dampening actually works due to fucked seals...like i said, its a mental thing.

And it easy to fiddle with your knob while riding...
