FEBRUARY 2013 SFOTM (ASF Streetfighter of the month)

If you would like your bike to be entered in the Feb 2013 Streetfighter of the month poll, please add any photos below. We will choose 4 bikes for the month and try to make them on an even level of build cost or expertise. I your bike does not make it this month it may well roll into next months if the category suits more. The majority of enteries will determine the category list.

If that has confused you, ask away....

    What the heck, why not

Bike is a 2001 R1 fighter that I did most of the work in my shed. Only thing not done by me was the paint and powder coating

Custom paintwork - Ford Focus Orange with a black overlay on a crystal effect
    • Frame and s/arm Powdercoated
    • Custom headlight with a custom headlight bracket manufactured
    • LED indicators (front and back)
    • Polished wheels
    • ABM wavy discs (front and back)
    • Billet brake levers
    • Billet rearsets (with custom heel guards)
    • Custom radiator guard
    • Black crash knobs
    • Custom Stainless Steel undertray with LED tail light (was originally a fridge door)
    • Shorty Yoshimura exhaust on a custom bracket
    • Billet brake reservoirs (front & back) from BXP
    • Fatbars
    • Hel Braided brake lines

Im after the "Long rear guard / big mirrors / quite pipe /
most likely to pass a cop / roadworthy" award,

Or maybe the "highest mileage / most abused / least serviced" award.

    have to... my shit fighter...
$1650 to buy, fix (includeing the zip tie's to hold body work on as well as horn etc), tyres (sinko 003 f, super corser R) rego and insurance all in
sell plastics for $250 so a total of $1400 for a bike that i have ridden into the ground, ride every other day and really just reminds me to the shit things for bikes I had as a boy with out a care in the world.

head light sv650 $50 (old one I had for mock up on other projects)
scrap s/s head light braket with machined mounts tig welded together on a jig made out old copper tube on bike

mounted on the stad front plastics mount on the seam

old stoner mate I know that lives in the fucking hills rode it to my place for the $400. The rear brakes where that bad the piston was into the disk and couldnt be removed, solved with the back half of the 1100 set I had off parts bits. The front disk warped so bad that whole bike shuddered when used etc you get the idea

please note this isnt a streetfighter as one man pionted out to me at one time, its just a naked bike and that he will be getting his ktm streetfighter one day....this my friends is a true story.
On a few levels he really didnt know what the fuck he was talking about and I asked him to lick my balls :-)

    does dirt count ??

undecided on what to call her - Dirtyfighter or Filthyfighter

so details are 92 gsx1100g shafty , swapped for a bunky ute to someone for a shooting rig , tail copped off , dash and all lights taken to motorcycle masters swapped for a new 88 gsxr rear shock thats a tad longer for some more ground clearance and some old cx500 side covers , tail given to me by the apprentice at work , bars from the shed , light from the vfr fighter , paint from work (thanks) so far no cash out lay till tyres kenda trackmasters , carby breather hose , air cleaner and battery all up just under $500 and a heap of time in the shed

plans ride the wheels off it at the beverely , westdale , bindoon , kalgoorlie and northampton dirt drags have a tonne of fun and not try to break my face , failing this ill park it against the wall and hold it flat in top gear
