    gsx-gs

any of you folk know if the gsx 4 valver head bolts onto the gs barrels, also i have been told that the 750 cams are lumpier than the 11`s, is this true.and why does suzuki suggest balancing carbs so the 2 outside carbs(1 and 4)are slightly higher on the guages.

Don't believe the heads are interchangeable

Check GSresources.com, it has a list of interchangeable bits for the GS/GSX

    Don't know about the cams

I believe that the two outer carbs are balanced slightly higher because of the shape of the airbox, and the fact that the air flow for the two outer carbs has to 'bend' around the frame members, thereby slowing down the response of the two outer cylinders when cracking it open.

seems that the answer is to do with that some gs models had a pre-muffler which only had the two center zausts entering and exiting through it.i am now running a 2.5 inch 4 into 1 system and pipeline can(modified of course)and after tuning the carbs evenly she rocks mate.crisper, sharper throttle response, better idle and a lighter throttle application for the same cruise speed.better fuel economy also(try beating 420 kays to a tank,18 usable litres before reserve for an 1100)that is highway use only and trying for economy.

420 k's to 18 litres? most bikes in here would be lucky to get 120 k's to 18 litres.ran 116 octane once an got about 300 k's but she was a bit to warm for my liking.

as stated that is on the highway only as frequent throttle abuse quickly reduces that
