Aust Post is a Government Corporation.

It is owned by them, they reap the rewards, but as a corporation it must still trade as one meaning paying it's employees from the profits of the business and paying tax etc; The benefits are by doing it this way it frees the Govt. from direct liability in an accident with for example one of their trucks but still gives them the revenue stream.

Other such ventures include things like Qld Motorways which is a State Govt. owned corporation, Sunwater which supplies water to various parts of Qld is another. There are plenty of them, after all - a $2Pty. Ltd. Co. is far better when the shit hits the fan to disolve than a whole Govt. dept.

Thats why the Freeman movement has grown in the UK, anyone read up on it ?

The principle being that the British Government, tax office, local government, the courts and the police are private Limited Companies now and no longer represent the "Crown". Therefore the Freeman movement claims that laws made by these private limited companies have no basis in established British crown Law so they are refusing to accept police actions and refusing to acknowledge the courts.

The police and authorities ar havivng a major epi over this and trying damned hard to slap it down. Civil disobedience !

It's actually a "Commercial Business Enterprise" to use the correct term...but everything else you said is correct. Owned by the Federal Government, but runs as a business and pays dividends to the Government.

Same as Telstra was before it was sold....
