If it works it works :-)
And you cant see it when its mounted up.
If i hadn't posted pics of my dodginess on the net, no one would ever know.
If anyone needs a 9/11ths gsxr radial MC, I now have a spare one.
since I'm doing a trackday soon, i thought i might paint the tank so it looks like a complete bike, instead of the dodgy home built fighter it is. Try and fake my way through scrutineering. The front guard and seat are both off a ninja 250, so they are the same black. So i just plasti dipped the tank matte black. It's not perfect, but its pretty good for less than $20, and about an hour, from pulling off the carbon tank protector to finished.

Forgiving paint that Plasti dip hey?
Yep, very forgiving. There's a couple of bits that aren't perfect, but for a temporary paint job, it's great.
and apart from a wipe down with wax and grease remover, no prep.
The time this bike has taken so far, temporary might mean another few years, though.
Im also a fan of Plasti dip. Very easy to use!
So, my brother was booking a trackday, asked if i wanted to come. Said i couldn't afford it, he said he'd pay. So i have gotten my arse into gear.

The new custom rad was hitting the front guard, so i needed professionally made brackets, not my home made ones to raise it up as high as i could. Ben's flat out, so off to DVMC in Botany.
New brackets, modded the mounting tabs on the rad, and my rocker cover bolts are now mounting points as well.
Ready for the trackday on Monday me and my brother will make a V8 rumble, although his tuono will be a bit quicker than the VFR.
How was DVMC? I usually get Ben to do all my work but as you know he is unavailable.
So do I, but I sent him a text, he said he was flat out (needed it done for the trackday on Monday), so I asked a mate who recommended DVMC.
Good guys, only took them a day. Work seems good, no cnc machine though.
And no turbos upstairs, so not as dangerous as visiting extreme.
turning out great......
when was the last time ben wasn't flat out lol
Whenever large drops around?
Maybe I should just drop around with a few minutes of wiring to do?:D
Giggles if only lol
trackday was a blast. not as fast as my brothers tuono, quick enough through the corners, and more grunt out of corners than some of the in line 4's on the day.
New rad kept it at 93 degrees on the first 2 sessions, then 103 for the next one. But it was 30-35 degrees air temp by then. Stay upright run the trackdays now, and they have a different photographer. Not sure if i can steal sample size ones from the net or not.
On to the pics...
tyres to the edge

Horsepower bursting out of the tank. Or my legs rubbing through the plastidip

and just before the 4th session, i noticed my exhaust had lost a bolt, these are my load bearing cable ties

Red though the black looks good tho lol
I found that the wifes bike is doing the same with the plastidip, in the same area and on the tail where her boot scrapes as she throws her leg over
Proper use of a tyre right there, nice one Chris.
he does put up w pics to steal the watermarked versions!

Looks like a fun day mate. How much is it for track days down there now?
Fun day for me and my brother, but heads of crashes, i think the ambo went out for 4 of them, plus little ones that people walked away from.I blame tyre warmers. Everyone with them just goes out hard and enough people without them try and keep up. Lots of first or second lap crashes. Not enough time to warm up tyres or reflexes.
It was (I think) $235 on a monday.
Yeah, they are $235 now
