Novacastrian Newbie
I discovered street fighters from our good friends at Rapid & have been keen 2 get into it for a while, I've only just discovered this thing they call the "Internet" though lol, I have a Black 08 Hyosung GT650R & yes I know it's Korean shit. It was a good choice though as its LAMS, can be de-restricted later & it wasn't breaking the budget, it runs fine & all it's just that the spare parts is a fucking nightmare!. I had somebody hit it & it took 3 months to get back only to have it for 1 week & somebody hits it again! both times it was parked but the second time was a hit n run so the excess is mine this time round. They dont give u a date for parts n everything seems to be on back order.Anyway as soon as it gets back im taking it's clothes off n joining the ranks of our esteemed streetfighter community, I already know that a member has created a hyofighter & am keen to get as much knowledge as I can from u guys as im really not mechanically minded, thanx 4 joining me in the madness!!! Hi, Welcome.
quckly call the repairer and stop the work. Get the insrance comp to cut u a check and spend that on the build....
-
Welcome mate, and I second what scotty said
-
All of the above. And welcome
-
im not too experienced with insurance can u give a little more detail?? but let me see ive got this, like i said it was a hit n run n its out of my insurance, most of the damage is scratches to the exhaust, fairing n mirrors, the blinker is smashed n the right handle bar is snapped clean off, my repairer tells me the exhaust needs to be completly replaced n the repair cost in total comes to $1800 dollars. so will the insurance company give me $1800 dollars assuming that i am doing the repairs myself? do i still need to pay an excess? and what could i do with this cash?
-
you would still need to pay the excess and i am pretty sure $1800 bucks would do shitloads as far as mods go mate go and have look around the your ride section and have a drool over some of the members bikes they are a good starting point and then let your creative mind take over...oh and welcome to the nuthouse mate
-
brilliant, will look into this, thanx 4 the info, let the madness begin, he he he.
-
Again: ^^^^^^^ What they said ^^^^^
And welcome buddy..... Goodluck with the build
Oh yeah, and: Un-restrict it now....... They'll never know [:P]

-
Welcome aboard mate, remember to post some pics of build
-

OK, I now have the bike & insurance money in my possession, I have some idea of what i would like to do, 1st i want to have the twin street triple headlights & dash, does anybody know if these will fit?? 2nd i need some new bars, blinkers, mirrors n longer brake n clutch lines, where should i start looking 4 these things?
-
Good stuff mate! For handle bars a set of dirt bike bars would most likely b the cheaper option than say, a set of ABM bars or something. Blinkers & mirrors? Ebay is ur friend!
Good luck with it mate n welcome!
-
Welcome to the madness mate.
And 1st things first, see how u can get cash off the insurance and do the work yourself...
-
