you could always move the ignition to somewhere out of the way mate then you would get it in nice and close and down an inch or 2 would realy do it some justice mate it would realy compliment the lines of your tank and tail

If I move the light down to where Dave says Rod it may not be an issue. Saying that, it would look uber-cool with the ignition moved mate, and clean up the head stock nicer.

Happy birthday GEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEZZZZZZZZZAAAAAA

and the bike waits for no man

BTW I think that moving the ignition will do fuck all for the function of the light , it will however look alot neater but the rounded shape of the light shouldn't affect it. The problem as before mentioned is the headstock mounting lugs ..........Hence I have cut mine of and got the holes welded up

Thanks for the B'day wish mate. I was out there last night moving the unit down and it looks fantastic. I cant believe what a difference it has made to the line of the bike.

Went over to my local bike meet tonight, weather has changed and it was a bit cloudy. I guess that must have put some people off because there was only about 300 bikes there tonight.

Row after row of sports bikes but there was one or two little gems in among them

The guy that owned this B12 was a bit of a Ducati fan and had stuck on a front end, swing arm and rear wheel from a 748 with a 916 seat unit. Really nice bloke too.

It had a strange flexi joint in the zorst, I couldnt quite understand what that was all about, but I didnt like to ask.

This RD400 was drop dead gorg, and I spent some time drooling over it.

Shame the guy that owned it was so full of himself.

Big headed twat.

So come on fella, if you are reading this start a thread and bang up a few photos of what you're up to down the shed, lol.

300 bikes on a wednesday night? Not a bad turnout.

Doesn't it stay light till about 10pm in summer in Pommyland?

Streetfighters mag arrivede through the door today, and my blade made it in to fan mail WITH THE PLASTIC ON. (forgot I sent in the photos its so long ago lol).

And on page 6 is Franks mate Shane Egan with his killa AvP Blade, then fast forward pausing only to have one off the wrist while looking at the tits draped over the GSX-R 750, 907cc big bore, and straight on to page 96 where you will find our own, Mel 'Billy Whizz' Culley's Patriot GSX-R 1000 K2.

Awsome Fighter Dude, and a nice T shirt.

A totally Yum-a-lisious issue this month with tonnes of other stuff worth having a tug over, but be carefull, and pace yourself coz you could go blind.

From the tugging............. not the mag!! you knew that though didnt you??? Yeah corse you did!

Well anyway I'm off to the bog clutching my mag in one hand and my.............. Well we wont go there!

See you tomorrow..............Hopefully!!!!!!!

It will in the summer, but this time of the year it gets dark about 21.30

During the summer months Large we get up to a 1000 bikes over there. The photos are not that good but we have a Pub with a BBQ, burger van, stalls selling T shirts and other biker stuff. Normally a good ride out, but some twat took a corner to wide tonight and stuffed it into the front of an Ambulance, although I guess if your gonna stuff it what better to stuff it into lol.

On the advice from Hueyonablade I moved my light down. Thanks for the photo shop pic Dave, soon as I saw it I knew it looked right.

There was another little job to do on the head lamp though. When I was hacking about my wiring loom I lost a pair of wires to my front blinkers. I was positive I hadnt cut them out so I went back over my thread, and located the pictures of the new LED flasher unit I installed when I had my fairing on. right there near the unit I could see just a short stubby pair of wires. There, I knew I hadent cut the fuckers off, ha ha.

I had a bit of a dig around and found them tucked under the flasher unit between the air intakes. Happy days, now I can wire in the blinkers in the front headlamp.

So I did.

I thought while I have the tank off I'll have look at Rod's suggestion of moving the ignition.

Turns out it didnt look to be that difficult

First thing I did was to remove the ignition switch from the mounting on the top yoke.

Then undid the 10mm bolt on the right side, in the base on the front tray that sits just infront and below the air box. This was so I could draw back the switch. A bit of fucking about when you see what is coming next.

Oh look! a connector, if I hadn't been so dumb I could have uncliped that and pulled it through from the other direction. Yeah yeah I know.

The next thang Iza dun was to remove the two engine mounting bracket bolts on the left of the bike, thats my left not yours, well, I guess it depends on what way you are looking at this. Oh who gives a fuck anyway. Just take out any old two bolts, its up to you what ones!!!

So, anyway, where the fuck was I? Oh yes, I remember.

A while ago, and I might have mentioned this once or twice, Hueyonablade showed me how to fit a Kwak 600 fender on my front end. Well, I had a bit of the ally angle left over from that fantastic conversion and thought it might be just the thing to make a mounting bracket from.

So I did!

I wraped the barrel in a bit of tape and gave it a coat of black paint, you know, the stuff with te twinkly bits in it. I like twinkles!

Mmmmmmmmmmm Twinkles.............

Anyway, the angley ally twinkly black brackety bracket bolted on the the back of the engine mounting bracket.

Like that^^^^^^^^^^Look^^^^^^^^^^

And the wires just sat down between the air box and the frame.

Now you tell me, what do you think of that air box? Hmm!! well between you and me! I hate the black cunt! Its never done anything to me, or done me any harm, but you know how it is when you take an instant dislike.

And from the out side the ignition looks quite ok there and not at all in ya face.

I'm happy with that, and thanks to Banditrod's idea the front of the yoke is a lot cleaner.

I'm gonna cut off the old ignition mount at some point then file and
polish it up again. Should look good.

See where that overflow pipe weaves through the frame just above the mounting bracket. Well I did think of making my ignition bracket so the barrel would locate in that space and cut a hole through the frame

So it came out just above where it is now.

But I wasnt sure if doing that would fuck the frame and weaken its structure.
