I love what you have done there Chris, great job. As Gamma says though, I too would have gone for some rubber mounts as soild joints cause all sorts of issues, trust me on this one, I learnt the hard way!

I reckon I can add some rubber grommets. The last oil cooler was rubber free, i didn't even think of it.
I actually have some anti vibration matting that usually gets installed under timber floors. I can add a strip between the cooler and the bracket. Otherwise i have to remake brackets, and I'm lazy.
    Thanks for the feedback, guys.

So i bought a rapidbike module for it, does auto tuning using the stock o2 sensors.
That i got rid of years ago when i got a pc3usb.
So ive just bough a stock system with sensors second hand to get me rideable for NFR -I'll track down cost effective new ones later.
And I got some weld in bungs for my headers.
    NFR is getting closer.

I had pirtek weld the an6 bungs on, and one of them cracked off. Since JB weld wasnt quite permanent, i bought some new bits and pieces and posted them to gitzy for welding.
The exhaust is mostly one piece, so i took the headers off last night and took them to a local place this morning for the O2 bungs.

thinking about renaming the thread how to build a deathtrap in 9 years..
    some airbox mods.
the vfr airbox is 3 parts. Bottom, filter which also provides the seal, then the lid that usually houses the snorkel, flapper valve and shit.
One of the guys on VFRD did a big airbox mod. take a k & n air filter, cut the seal off. Cut the top off the airbox lid and attach the filter element to the lid. Essentially moving the filter from the middle to the top. Bigger airbox, and room for dual velocity stacks.
not quite finished, needs a clean up and sikflex to glue and seal, but it will work nicely.

the one with the heat tape is kinda standard, the one with the filter is, well, embiggened.

Nice pipes! Let us know how the airbox mods go, been considering doing that but leaning more towards supercharging at the moment

I can afford velocity stacks, not a supercharger.

Well I should rename mine to How to build a deathtrap in 19 years... because I'm up to year 16 now.

Yeah Seb bought that off my mate Roy. And yep Ozzy it was complete. Hell of a score. At least we know it went to a good home.

Attempted to refit the exhaust last week. One exhaust stud out of 8 was a little worse for wear and had stripped thread on the first 5mm or so. The nut wouldn't catch on the thread.
I removed the stud last night and rethreaded using a die. No OEM studs in aus, and ebay are all delivery after NFR. I'll see if it will do the job for one last fitting and replace them all after NFR.

Couldn't you just take it down to a nut and bolt shop and ask them to match it? Even if it was just a temporary fix for the ride?

Its M8 at one end and M6 at the other. I have called quite a few, and nothing.

Fully sick custom made one by Ben? I'll be giving my rethread stud a go tonight.
