Good Stuff!
Good Stuff!
Time for another update. So the frame went up in the jig to make sure everything was all straight and thankfully it was.
Sweet. Were you sus on it being bent?
Ladies and Gentelmen, take my advise. "Pull down your pants and slide on the ice."
If you didn't notice the nice new Gilles Rearsets previously here they are in all their glory, problem is they're non-folding so won't pass roady. So we decided to fuck about and make it so I can switch from std to sexy back and forth as required.
Doing a bit of a measure/template thingy, I'm sure Lynton will be along to sort out any mistruths.
Drilling the starter hole
These to be welded in
Weldy goodness
All prettied up
AWWWWW SEXY!!
Na, Bob, wasn't sus. Even after you dropped it . Lynton just checked it as a matter of course.
Lynton please correct/expand on any of these posts too mate. I'm very far from being an engineer/builder.
I am a big fan of those rear sets
No that about covers it, just used a bit of scrap to drill the hole in the right spot and out the other side of each mount,
Then drilled both holes to size, bolted the boss into place and back welded,
Welding the 2mm wall boss to a 1 mm edge I used 1.6 mm tungsten, around 70 amps dc 66 pps 66% background
0.8 mm er70s6 filler wire, number 7 should stubby gas lens, 6-8 lpm gas if people are interested in the settings
The right roadworthy guy won't give a fuck about fixed pegs. Infact, I keep seeing people ask about it, but I've never seen anything in an adr that says they have to fold.
Holy shit OZZY, can you speak English LOL. Just kidding mate, your work is awesome! Bike is getting treated well Fish. Look forward to more updates as they come.
Monster GSXR 7/11 RIP!
Raven R1 Demon.
K7 750 German Style (under construction)
That is a really cool way to mount those rearsets jesus..
Holy shit, has it been that long? I got a shed now, so about to start kicking along slowly again. Massive thanks to Lynton for all the help.
So many people saying "has it been that long?" It's quite funny! Good news on the shed mate. Let's see some action.
Looks like as the forum slowed down so did peoples builds (mine included). Hopefully this is a kickstart for a few of us
Fuckin hell better pull my big boy pants up.
"I call it a Camberwell carrot as I invented it in Camberwell and it looks alot like a carrot"
New house with bigger shed! Still need to spend some time sorting it out, but it'll get there. Big thanks to Ozzy for dropping the bike round and all the work/advice. Fiddled round and put the Gilles rearsets on. Lots more to do. Slowly slowly at this point with littlies running around and taking up all my bike time. Just waiting for them to be big enough to give dad a hand.
