    zx7/9 power delivery and fueling.

ok so i got myself a zx7/9r to replace my old zx7r. i have a few querys and faults.

the power delivery is as follows idle- 6000rpm crap, 6000- 9000rpm pulling hard but not as hard as my old 7 did, 9000- redline fucking mental, its like a 2 stroke coming on band like real aggresive. so is this normal for the zx9 donk? it is running the 9 carbs also.

a couple of times now ridding along, when i give it throttle its like its real cold or running out fuel kinda, it wont rev and bogs down alot but it isnt specific to any rev range or load on the engine ie- with clutch in it sometimes still wont rev sometimes it will. it plays up for a few minutes to varying degrees then sorta clears and is good for a bit. not really sure where to start with this any info would be greatly appriciated.

if you have you need to get the balance pipe from the carbs and put it into the top side of the airbox this will fix your problem mate

My bet is the Rod is on the money. Without the ram air in place it will do all of that and some more at times. So get the balance pipe sorted and tune from here

If the balance pipe/ram air wasn't kosher, it wouldn't get over 5k RPM so I doubt that's your problem.
It sounds like the pilot circuits are blocked, it's a very common problem with the Keihin CVKs.
