    funny stuff gents.

had a great day myself. bloody hot for the first session but cool change came through and once the wind fucked off the weather was perfect for the rest of the day.

was great to see the ASF guys out there having a crack at the worlds best race track. the new suspension worked fantastic and gave me a shit load more confidence to push harder.

after coming in after the first session with the flat slides on i pulled up and could smell fuel looked down and saw petrol pissing out of the 3&4 float bowl overflow straight onto the motor. quickly stopped the leak by parker putting his finger over the overflow but that ment it started pissing out somwhere else. furned off the fuel tapps and luckily the bike didn't catch fire. i swapped back to the cv carbs for the rest of the day.

luckily somone had a transponder hidden somewhere and my lap timer was been triggered each lap.

started the first 2 sessions with a best of about 2.00min but got a tow in the 3rd session and got down to the 1.55 that i was aiming for, ended up with a best of 1.53.0min according to the lap timer.

found that the gearing that i was running may be a little short. was fine early in the day when i was going slow but as i got faster the 1100 was tapped out at 240kph down the straight at 10500 odd rpm. will try going up 1 tooth on the front next time as see how i go.

great to see gibbo get back out there in the last session even after his mischeif. hope it hasn't dampened your enthusiasium to do more track days mate.

got some good pics but looked on the photographers website and they are not up yet so will post up when their website is updated.

thanks again guys for a great day.

That 2nd pic of you is the best one I reckon Deano. plenny of lean angle, knee down & the black visor gives it attitude as well - good shot that - the guy takes good pics.

Oh yeah, the 3rd pic reminds me of one of those big Bathurst style alloy drop tanks on a SLR 5000.

It's an aloominum catch tray Large, on full faired bikes you have to have a means of catching the amount of oil the engine holds in case you should stick a leg out of bed - it's not required for trackdays but it is for racing.
He knocked it up before the last Interclub round a few weeks ago to satisfy the scrutineers because he was intending to race like a real man but instead he chickened out like a little sooky girly because he thought it might rain.
Of course it didn't rain & all the big tough motorcycle racers went out & tore it right up & had a ball while Deano sat in the pits crying & wishing he was hard.
Can you tell I've been hanging to tell that story? [^]

    Yes I can

But why not just wrap the whole engine in one of those big turkey sized oven bags?[^]

what interclub race did you do mate. i shoul have raced at that one cause i one i was at it rained and wet the track in the morning and given it was going to be my first race and not having wets and only unscrubbed slicks i didn't want to risk taking you out aswell.

see i always look out for you mate.

you are gunna have to tuck in you skirt and do a few more ride days aswell mate cause i am a catching you according to the lap times[8D]

Yep, after watching me get on the podium in each of my first 2 race meetings, Deano has decided that I shouldn't have all the champagne to myself & has committed to doing the whole Victorian Interclub Series next year, his laptimes are coming down so he should be competitive with the leading 4 KAWASAKIS in the Pre Modern class (if his Gixer doesn't blow its guts all over the racetrack trying to keep up. )
The ASF Race Team (Mexican Division) flag will fly high in 2008 & we'll be sure to share all the gory details with yiz.
