JOE BAR ONE RULES AND REGULATIONS

The « Joe Bar One » Championship consists of five events and is only open to motorcycles with loads of power:

Minimum of 4 stroke 880 cc engines.
Minimum of 2 stroke 498 cc engines.
For others explosion's engines please contact the organisation.
There are no restrictions in terms of engine and chassis set-up*.

The championship (free trials, technical inspection and administrative checks, time trials, qualifying heats and final) will be spread out over five 3-day meets starting on a Friday morning and ending on a Sunday afternoon.

    • This competition differs from others because the organisers want to highlight not only rider ability, but also the expertise of their performance engineers.
    • Therefore, the points awarded for the machine’s acceleration capacity and power will count in the final results classification, in addition to the riders’ racing performance,
    • Furthermore, these machines must have been modified to look different from original manufacturer models. Additional points will be awarded by popular vote to the most original, cool-looking and awesome creations.
    • Motorcycles entered for a Joe Bar One meet may not be modified between events during a weekend meet (other than chassis engine settings).
    • If after entering one Joe Bar One meet, a contestant wishes to modify their motorcycle before the next meet, he/she must notify the organisers of the new machine’s specifications at least 3 weeks before the next meet so that these modifications can be communicated to media partners.
    • If after entering one Joe Bar One meet, the contestant wishes to change their motorcycle before the next meet, he/she must notify the organisers of the new machine’s configuration at least 3 weeks before the next meet. The contestant will be charged 50% of the annual registration fee for making these changes (to cover the costs of modifying the event programmes. This is necessary for the coolest rider/motorcycle competition).
    • Motorcycles may be modified between Joe Bar One meets without notifying the organisers if these modifications do not affect the look of the machine. Organisers reserve the right to assess the modifications to determine whether the machine’s specification sheet must be updated.
    • Precise rules for what is and is not permitted in terms of appearance would be to difficult to draw up. As a result, entries will only be approved after examination of the application form submitted by contestants (See Chapter VIII).
    • The Joe Bar One Championship will consist of 5 meets throughout the year. Points will be awarded and provisional classifications posted after each event. Any bonus points earned will be awarded at the end of each weekend meet. The winners of the Joe Bar One’s first season “Grand Podium” will be announced after the fifth and final event.

    1 – General Points
    • Integral fairings are not permitted. Only wind deflectors, fork crowns and lower fairings may be used (as long as these do not cover the bottom of the engine).
    • Contestants may fit any tyres supplied by their partners other than slicks (grooveless tyres). The use of rain tyres is permitted. The use of heated tyre covers is not compulsory, but is highly recommended.
    • Motorcycles must be equipped with a starter mechanism.

    2 – Wheels and Frame
    • The use of titanium in the construction of frames, front forks, handlebars, swing arms, swing arm spindles and wheel spindles is not permitted.
    • For wheel spindles, the use of light alloys is also not permitted, but titanium alloy may be used for nuts and bolts.

    3 - Handlebars
    • Handlebar ends must be solid or covered in rubber. Stops must be fitted to ensure a clearance of at least 30 mm between the handlebar and the control levels, the fuel tank and frame when at the extremes of steering lock.
    • The steering damper must not be used as a steering lock. Lateral shock absorbers are not permitted for safety reasons.
    • There must be a clearance of at least 20 mm between the wind deflectors or the fork crown and the ends of the handlebars or any other steering system and any accessory attached to them.
    • Handlebars may not be repaired.

    4 – Control levers
    • All control levers must have ball ends at least 19 mm in diameter. The ball ends may be flattened but must be rounded (thickness of the flat part must be at least 14 mm). The ball ends must be an integral part of the lever.
