    1977 CB400 *AUCTION-ENDED* (Tadpole/AFR Funds)

Since Kris (elapid) had such a brilliant idea with the auction to raise money for a worthy cause me and Lucas have decided to "borrow" the concept and have on offer a 1977(approx) Honda CB400. 1st it was going to be a cafe racer, then it was going to be an oldschool bobber then it was going to be a cafe racer again but so far it's only been a garden gnome. It's pretty rough but almost 100% complete just missing the side cover thingies and 1 mirror is busted so should make a great project basis. Half the money will go to save our AFR and half to the tadpole fund, bidding starts at 83 cents and the auction will run until to 20th.

I just went to upload the pics from my phone and can't find that cord that ya need so i'll get Lucas onto it soon or if anyone is real keen to see it contact me on 0416411274 and i can send an mms.

Happy and generous bidding boys and girls

Ryder will have to answer that for you TK, the bike is at his joint. My understanding is that it was running reasonably well (may need some carbie work) but hasn't been started for some time.

Again - shear awesomeness! You guys rock.

These little bikes used to go great and they were bullet proof. We used to call the one I knew "4 on the floor" instead of 400/4 as that's where it spent most of it's time.

They polish up great and those original headers come up a treat!

I know this is an earlier model but they can still look like this:

Good on ya Wayne for getting the ball rolling.

While I don't like Honda's I have a soft spot for the 400/4 and 350/4 . Be a shame if I'm the top bidder so hook in and buy the missus a classic or grab a cheap work bike . Good causes both .

There's no old thread to search anyway mate. Bike is in "original condition" and comes with about 15kg of genuine Canberra dirt and road grime which as we all know is amongst the best in Australia so get bidding!!!

Thanx Ryder, I was wanting to know stuff like - Is it rideable? Have you ridden it? Does it blow smoke? Does the engine make any noise? Is the gearbox & clutch OK? Are the wheels true? Is there any rust/pitting on the fork staunchions/shock shafts? Do all the electrics work? Are the brakes working or siezed? etc, etc.
Just the basic stuff I need to know if I'm buying a bike really, helps me work out how much $$ I've gotta spend.

My wife will probably kill me but put me down for $400. I probably should finish the Daytona but I really want to do a cafe racer.
