    Looking to buy a figher

    hey all,

    New to ASF, and new to the ACT. Was hoping someone had a SF for sale or knew of a good starting point for an ACT newbie.

    Go buy a new bike then crash it. Pull of all the plastic and then ride the fuck out of it.

    I picked up a wrecked VFR 750 92 model some time about for about 2k, it was all good bar the plastic. So when i get off my ass I'll make up some new glass for her.......

    I guess it all depends on what type of bike you want as your base and what you want to do to it.... Tho as we dont have any many MC werckers I'd look at the ones in NSW or Vic if you want to go down the rebuild from the ground up...

    I'm looking at an '99 R6 at the moment. Seems to have a lot going for it... wonder what it's worth. Here are the specs:
    - Custom FULL RACE exhaust (OVER brand)
    - Anodised blue levers and tyre/valve caps
    - Anodised blue bobins/ race stand bolts
    - Custom hand grips
    - Custom air filter
    - Braided brake lines all around
    - Oggy knobs
    - 47,000kms on the odometer

    Owner's claiming 130BHP...

    So, I'm wondering. What do you guys reckon it's worth? What do you think about the horsepower claim?

    130 sounds about right, he might be pullin his pud by about 10 hp but pretty close. My mrss kid picked up a 00 r6 for $3600 with a yoshi pipe and about the same kays, so if it aint got rego I wouldnt pay more than 4000.

    I looked up the redbook - it's claiming $5,500-6,500. Also, bike insurance over that year model at $6000...

    I thought I was getting a bargain and was considering selling it on...

    Think I read in another post somewhere mate, that it was 4500 ? . Not really a big margin for sellin on. my first question when buyin a bike is how long u had it for ?. and if he says a week, i am walkin,something wrong with it.... Was gunna say post it on net riders but if its not an gpx or a bmfuckinw they dont wanna know about it
