I know where you are coming from latheboy
streetfighters have come a long way in the last
number of years but it started out using crashed
sports bikes and puting a set of bars on and headlights
and away you go.i still have no problem with this
as not alot of people can afford the cost of putting a turbo
in,changing the swingarm and so on.not having a go
cos it's not my style but just my view.

i dunno, as someone who has had never-ending issues mainly to do with things from the initial crash that i didnt notice til they failed
i can see the reasoning behind this

i am VERY keen to see if you can make decent $$$ selling the fairings etc
this perhaps even turning a negative loss from your fightering (i.e. the finished bike ends up costing less than the initially outlay)

who knows, the final fighter might only end up owing him 10 grand?
    Rev the fucker!!!!!

If you want to make money on a build go talk to sharky. That bloke has an uncanny ability.

    My 2c
I'm with fimp on this one. Crashed bikes often have more then just fucked plastics. I've had to get my swing arm fixed and along with the chassis powder coated to clean up all the battle damage. I've got electical gremlins too, just glad nothing mechanical. Starting with a clean bike clean slate is the best way to get it right. (Not necessarily the only way - just the easiest). Some people love the rat bike/rough look. More power to them. I like clean bikes so I'm forking out the dollars to get mine sweet.

My budget has taken a hit from the speeding fine and a few other things, so the plan has changed. Initially it'll just be a change to high bars and twin lights, when I get the rest of the money for my old 6R it'll be getting a Carcass bellypan and a 2nd set of twin lights which I reckon will look pretty cool.

Just gave the credit card a work out:

Bellypan will be ordered some time this week, and I just gotta pick some bars. Was thinking about some braced Renthal Streetfighter bars, anyone know where I can find a set?

For $155 they'd have better not sent it by fucking sea.

Yeah, sent them an email last night and got a response. They claimed they've been replying to all my emails but I haven't heardsquat from them, but they are cancelling my order and giving me a refund. Strange that when I email just asking about shipping times and for a tracking number I get no reply, but when I send one letting them know I've filed a credit dispute and wanted my money back I get a respsonse straight away.

what alot of companys are doing now they
will tell you they have the part in stock
and they don't and most of the time they can't
get them after you place an order.
they just won't hold stock cos it's money on the shelf
if you know what i mean.
see if one of the lads from Germany can help you mate.

You're not wrong, yot an email yesterday morning saying that the kit had just arrived. Put in a call to Ben this morning, the will be going into him sometime next week. Just going for a set of risers drilled through the stock triple now, will spend the extra dosh on a bellyapn.
