    but there's no 7020 there [?], praps 7075? but its not welding, and welding is what i meant askin'bout the frame high grade alloys can't be welded, coz alloying elements burn out, a metal structure's damaged, so the welding can't be reliable... as far as i know

    That's why 7020 is used, it is a high strength alloy specifically designed to retain most of its strength after welding.
