help with my 79 CBX mods please

I'm new here and Gasp a Kiwi so hopfully some one can help me.
what I'm trying to achieve is suspension mods for my old 79 CBX, I have a complete 89 GSXR750 front end and a RC36 VFR750 single side rear end.
I was hoping some one might have done these change overs, what my questions are I've seen photos of similar mods on CBX's and they are still using the orriginal gauges, anyone know how they overcame the speedo drive setup one image showed some form of drive mounted on the sprocket cover.
    any help would be great

    Hi Old Man Kiwi!
Sprocket cover would indicate a digital magnet pick up, so that wouldn't make sense as you need to speedo drive cable to run the clocks. Are the clocks definitely original or have they used the casings with a digital speedo internal?

If you must keep cable drive gauges but want to run modern rims with no drive
there is the option of driving the cable off the output shaft. We got a conversion
kit from japan for one of the zeds and it was mostly made up of Honda factory
parts where they had already done it. I don’t remember the models....
Btw welcome, sounds like a fantastic project pictures please

Looks like that same drive unit was used on a bunch of 90's hondas - RVF750/VFR750/VFR400/CBR250/NSR250, so if it's not that, I wonder what it is?

It might well be, it was on my trip to japan before this last one and I haven’t looked after that as it was about two years ago...
I could look up the part numbers but to be honest I couldn’t be fucked. No reason that one wouldn’t work
even if the parts we have are different, at least the bloke has options.
