Looking good fimp. A few questions...
Are the holes there on the headstem from a compliance plate or didn't it ever have one? Is there more frame bracing, maybe around the headstem? How long ago was it engineered?
When I got my blueslip, the RTA wanted us to measure the wheelbase for them. Looks like they're building up a Katana facts file

they measured the wheelbase,
i cant see any holes where a compliance plate would have been
apparently they needed to know kW as a part of the new "power-2-wieght" thing for L-platers
i tried to tell here it would be about 80kW (guessing) but she needed to hear it from the retarded tech department...
just put the new numberplate on, time to cruise down to the cafe [B)]

lookin good for a 20(ish) year old bike. Now that the hassle of making it legal is over(by the way do you have to do that every year?) are you going to make any mods to it or just keep it clean and standard? Are they easy to find/buy in OZ(maybe a stupid question as a few guys have them on this site), hardly see any over here, maybe they all in England.
Heres a nice site with good pics and further links.

Nice work fimp, looks like you've done well there mate.
Probably like driving a bus compared to the SV( or a jumbo?)
Clutch basket on my GS100s rattles too, not a major prob.
Might be worth checking out an oil cooler if you are riding in a lot of traffic, these old beasties are hard on their oil.
Check out the four pot calipers on suzukifreaks kat, they should do a good job on pullin her up.
Classic bike.

would love to put better stoppers on there
thats the one thing im not particularly happy with
it has braided lines and a better master cylinder, but still the front brakes are wooden as!!
i got new pads for it today, so i will give her new pads and a bleed tomorrow and see from there
i have my spare gixxer forks and triples here but i really just need to use this as-is for now while i get the tiller of the ground
i wouldnt say it handles worse than the SV, its just COMPLETELY different
-
Is that an EF front end on it Fimp?
-

is it??? i dunno
the guy said something about removing the anti-dive??
either way they handle pretty well, better than the shite forks on the SV i think

Lucky Bastard!! Nice Kat man im jealous!
And yes Gix a Kat section would be great!
-
Need a better picture, but that looks like the posidive unit from the EF's, preferable to antidive. The top of the sliders though does look like the Kat ones.
If they are EF forks take care if ordering springs, the internal Diameter is smaller than the Kat forks (ie thicker walls, stronger) and the standard Kat springs won't fit. Outer diameter is the same.

i put some flushmounts on the front instead of the shovels that were on there before
i might see about replacing these ones for smoked items when i get the chance (i think stu seels similar ones in smoke finish)
they are pretty bright though, should get me out of trouble for now
i took that screen off too, looks like the pressure on the screen has tried to pull the bolts through the fibreglass on the fairing, so i guess i will fix that if i ever get to respraying it....

im halfway through an oil-change, and filter change
what a pain in the arse!!! had to take the exhaust off to do it!

and i have some spare 15/50 sitting around
think it will be ok to put in???

yeah i know
but i wonder sometimes,
anyways, i'll save the other stuff for my brothers 750 tonight
i did all the oil change etc no big issues (other than all the fukin about with the zorst...
then i was shooting off down the road this morning and a few k's into it the speedo stops working
turns out the young mechanic dude put the cable at too sharp an angle yesterday
and it broke
so now i get a new one FREEEEE
only trouble is it wont be in til late next week and i go past 2 stationary speed cameras on the way to work every morning **gulp**
i might have found some better rear blinkers to now thanks to veetwo
so thats about it for this baby til the tiller is finished (im sure i'll eat those words...)

I was looking for something in my parts collection today and I found my example of "Flush Mounts". Look like side markers from a State Transit Bus
