Plenty of places to go or times of day that they won't be around.

And tony wins, just fucking ride the thing. Explore the country
around you, put k's on the road, don't act like a dick and be smart about it.
Reward is some beautiful runs with just you and the bike and not a hassle
    in sight

I rarely see cops or have any dramas at Xmas or any other public holidays.

Set off early, head for the highway, sit at the speed limit, and get the f#ck away from
all the local hills, twistys, coffee shops and regular playgrounds that all the newbies,
gay harley riders and wanna-be Marquez's love and the cops see as cash crop.

Gold Coast Hinterland / Mt Glorious / Mt Mee etc are guaranteed money for the cops,
yet folk flock there to get milked. Make the effort, get out of bed, put some lazy K's in
On the way, and there's some great places to play that arent targeted if you look.

Agreed but in my case it's plan "a" and plan "b" is riding :-)
I love riding but it means leaving the property and I hear
    the outside world is scary

Tamborine seemed to be a hot spot last week.

One bike seized for having a turbo, another for having a loud pipe (3rd offence)
Heaps of other tickets issued for any illegal mods, illegal pipes, removal of the "cat" etc.

Illegal mods / non-complianced mods are being used as type 2 hooning offences.

As predicted then. I'm sure those bikes that were seized or dealt tickets to will help with road safety.

Not if the bike never had one to start with.
.... but if a vehicle is sold with one surely it makes up part of the bikes
    original ADR / Compliance ?

Whilst they may not be listed as a requirement, having modified the exhaust to a spec
where it no longer meets the standards ADR / EPA required may fall foul of other laws.

I'm not convinced you can't be ticketed for removing a cat
although I'd certainly like to be wrong.

First of all not a trump you post Tony...ADR....exhaust is in two parts Decibel & Gas emissions....I can drag all the paperwork out later about the requirements for 2&3 wheeled vehicles...but this is the problem of the Dept of transport cross reading the rules for cars not bikes, remembering CARS are their main source of policing.....sorry I just get sick of here say and no one actually checking.....have a copy of ADR, will find it and post it up....Cheers All

    PS loud pipes....your stuffed

Pipes CAN be re-tested without a Cat And certified,
but the removal is possible grounds for claiming the original certification is no longer valid.

It's good to know the laws, but that's only half the story.
As we have seen with everything from wrong shape rego holders, rear guard lengths,
anti hooning laws, VLAD bike club laws etc, what's much more important is if and how the
    police choose to inforce them.

A while back there was no law that says you couldn't lane split,
but folk still got ticketed but the cops by finding other offences when you did it.
Today you still committee those same offences but its now "legal".
