Hi, I've just moved back to Melbourne after about 10 years in the UK.

Naturally, the first thing I did when I got back was to buy a bike - an 01 Bandit 12
My last bike in the UK was an 04 B12 and I loved the thing, so I figured that a Bandit is a Bandit and this one would be the same. Well, it wasn't. It was stock and went nothing like the UK bike. Plus they're all sold faired over here, something I'm not a fan of on these bikes.
First to go was the plastics. The bars were replaced with drag bars and the yards of wiring were tucked into a little PCB box that I modified on my uncle's mill. I also welded up a little bracket to hold the clocks on, though initially cable ties did the trick.
I'm after a pretty subdued look, so styling wise I might just remove the side panels and tidy up the bits and bobs that they usually cover up. Or maybe not. We'll see what happens.
In the last few weeks I've added a Delkevic can and link pipe as well as an Ivan's jet kit. This has helped free up the motor quite a bit, but it still doesn't go like my old one sadly. More work needed!
I'm also running on Pilot Road 4s, which a friend rather accurately described as being like 'forklift tyres', so I'll have to find some better rubber too.
