Forklift / Crane hire in Sydney
Hey guys,
I bought a lathe in homebush and need it loaded onto a truck, on Monday!
I thought I had it sorted but then all of a sudden the quote went way up.
Has anyone got the hook ups? It weighs 3.5 ton and access is pretty good, apart from a mezzanine about 800mm over half of it where it currently sits.

its the picking it up and putting it on the truck that's the problem.

No lotto win here i'm incredibly (now more than ever) sad to say...
Turns out i still need help with this.
The truck that got sent up was a tautliner, and the lifting device i ended up getting was a franna... 4m of hight (lathe + slings + hook + boom) does not fit into the 2.maybe7 of the side of a tautliner (i didn't even think about it, just assumed the dude would send one of his flat beds) SO there goes $800+ down the drain... good one fuck head!
So now i'm desperately in need of a more budget conscious lifting solution for when i get the flat bed up there (The truck guy has been great about it all and is probably only going to charge me a couple of hours for the driver heading from where he unloaded to where the lathe is, and he's going to organise to get a load for his flat bed ASAP to get up there)
There are now no access issues, as i'ts out from under the mezzanine, and i'm just trying to find if lifting with a fork from underneath is a viable option. (manual says to use the 3 lifting points and slings/chains, but most people seem to lift CNC lathes from underneath)
So yeah....
