    Balance track racer

New project on the go, Jen built me a kid 8 months ago and he is starting to stand.

So i need to get him on a bike asap.

bit of stuffing around on Solidworks and come up with this.

Only real changes are the drop out for the wheels, i wasn't happy with that part of the model.

Just got to make a seat and mount some bars, then off to Gibbo for paint.

    Bamm.

    Thanks Si,
Hey.... how do you change the title?
It should be, "Balance Track Racer" haha

I was going to buy one but 700 euro is a bit much for the one I wanted.

cool but dont forget to put a mount for pegs buddy!
we have ballance bikes at our local BMX track and the ones hitting the track are putting their feet on rear stays and wheel is close to their feet as they are standing up now , but two of the bikes have foldable pegs so the kids can flip down and stand upright !

Good idea Albi, for this one though it'll get small running boards to keep with the style.

I might just buy him one for the BMX track that i wont cry over when he bins it.....

I have started designing a mini DH bike too, I hope he like bikes haha

Building bikes for the kids is cool, they start piling up as they grow bigger though, my spares shed looks like the evolution of the chopper in pushies...

    Looks good man

I especially like how the tread pattern is the Philip Island track. Subliminal message to son I reckon.

I've already started designing the bigger one for a 50cc engine

I think a mini dh bike will be the next bike though..

12" wheels... I have some 10" kicking around that will go on first which will bring the seat height down.. then when he is taller the 12's will go back on ..

Thanks Clint, I drove past your place on the weekend.... why were'nt you out the front to wave?

They are pushy wheels off a kids bike....

Hard rubbish is you best friend!!! I picked up 4 kids bikes just to get the wheels then dumped the frames on my pile

I did keep one bike though, it was mint just needs a chain.
