    525 Chain conversion?

I've been looking at changing over the ZX14 to a EK ZZZ 525 as opposed to a EK ZZZ 530 or the DID ZVMX.

    DID Various

    Pros-
    Lighter
Greater range of sprockets seem to be readily available

    Cons-
Shorter life span/ more frequent adjustments
    Not officially rated to 1400cc

Just looking for feedback on why I should/shouldn't.

If I were you I'd ask myself how often I have or wanted to change the gearing on my bike. If it's never or hardly ever then the pros that you've identified aren't really worth changing for. If you are on a weight loss regime for your bike then probably go for it or if your bike is standard or close to standard and your not really that concerned about saving a few grams here and there then again why bother.
Shorter life span and more regular adjusting would make me think twice about this.

Out of curiosity why are you considering this change?

    Just my thoughts.

Coming up on a c&s change soon and would be nice to save a little weight off the drivetrain.
Looking to lower the gearing a bit.

I think your 14 will eat a 525 a lot faster than you expect. But having said that, metallurgical advances are constantly improving all things mechanical... so it's a hard one to call.

If you do it, get something of very high quality, such as an RK GXW.

I have done 520 conversions on all my bikes except the drag bike so far and haven't seen any real negative effects. Even the turbo has 520 and that gets a real arse kicking and I can't remember the last time I had to adjust the chain never had an issue

I would love to become a professional whistler. I'm pretty amazing at it now, but I wanna get, like, even better. Make my living out of it.

I love it when people start telling you a new high speed steel 520 chain wont handle bla bla , yet the hardend Ali sprocket teeth seem to last ok with 200 hp on at 250 kg bike.
