Yeah I saw that site, thanks, they seem to handle normal milling type machines not CNC but have found some links anyway TA!

Don't look under milling machines or lathes if you want cnc.
To get cnc look under cnc lathe and vertical machining centers.

Well I have pretty much got thx machine ready to power up
I have cleaned it up as best I can by pulling out the internal sheet metal.
I pulled the entire lube system apart and replaced the oil metering jets. I still have to test the lube pump once its powered up tho.
I have replaced the window in the door with some new 6mm polycarb

I now have a plug on the wall but no power to it yet. The power will be connected on 25th

Cleaned some grotty fans. Checked spindle and axis brushes and they have plenty of life left

I'll give you a tip here deano, from experience.
Once you have decided on your brand of lube oil, don't change it. I changed from one brand to a different manufacturers equivalent, the two reacted and went like jelly, had to strip the whole machine down and flush all the oil delivery tubes and jets.
    Was a complete fuck around.

Thanks for the tip mate. I have a 20lt of tritech slideway 68 so will be using that as the manual says a 68 way oil is required.
The manual machines are using the same oil also.

Another tip... When having 3phase wired up I try to use hard wired instead of plug
most things don't need to move and depending on set up you don't need a rcd
keeps cost down in a few areas including number of circuits required because sizing is
done on rating of machine and not plug rating. Mind you , you will never go wrong with the
way you have it done but really easy sometimes to knock of $500 off a job and still be legal

It is a 32 amp plug, I was going to hard wire it but the. If I end up with a second tool that runs on 3phase like a welder or bronco saw then at least I can plug it in some where. With hard wire I can't do that

No harm in that, myself I over sized then added isolaters( 4 machines so far) and added a 10amp socket for things that move( the power hacksaw that I only wheel out when in use) as most single machines are under 10 amp. My new tig is the heaviest user so far
at 14 amp but the 7+ hp lathe is still only 6.7.
Id hate to think how much that machine head uses and your way sparky wont need to return, I just hate plug leeds and have a tame sparky because once you go 3 phase it is the only way to fly.
Trust me your workshop is one I'd love a look around :-)

well after what seems like months and alot of being fucked around by the power company the 3 phase is finially connected.

after reconnecting the pulled out connector from the previous page and hitting the button the machine fired up like brand new.

there was a program in the machine so ran that.

next on the list is to hook up the rs232 for file transfer load up the tools in the cam software, fill the turret, fill the coolant tank and start making chips.

    i'm excited.

will post up a video once youtube has processed it
