Looking at the photos you have plenty of cross bracing on the sub frame ,You could go with just some tabs made out of 5mm and do the seat base out of fiberglass bolted to the tabs. All that extra steel is just over kill bloke , If you want something with slightly higher wank factor I could cut some Carbon fiber off a roll for you .

Cheers for the offer red. I mite try that. I was thinking it was over kill but Ive had a lot of bad experience with fibre glassing, this seemed to be a solid way of mounting to tail.

Fiber glassing is easy enough if you have everything set out from the start, CF works well if you pre cut your pieces then all you need to do is lay it up and a little trimming after.

Pre measure your resin and catalist mix when your 100% ready , make sure you have your roller/brushes all set out first. Wrap your bike in glad wrap then you don't need to worry about drips etc.

Did some work on the mufflers today. Welded some mild steel pipe onto the exsisting headers and presto. Still want to angle the pipes up a bit.

Cheers Si, got the dash and head light so did a bit more today.
    Old dash

    Dash gone

Had to make a bracket for the dash to be mounted centre, so cut out a template

Found a scrap piece of ally and started to cut

    Mounted to new dash

And now the wiring fun begins, not as hard as I thought

Still more wiring and mounting the head light to do.

What else do you do with your G20 day off. Finally get out to the shed!!
So made a place to put the battery and decided (after taking on everyone advise) that the 4mm steel was over kill.
So cut and made a under tail/seat fount in one from 2mm alley. Also tackled more of this wiring and got it running again.
I have a few days off next week so hopefully one of them will be back in the shed.

    The old steal

    alley cut out

    Wiring fun

A little gap which covered by folding some alley and made a license plate holder too.

I also moved the seat back about 50mm. So there is a small gap which I hope to cover once I get/make a seat
