some yummy bronze weld
some yummy bronze weld
Cunt makes that look WAAAY to easy.
Think he's done that before once or twice
How strong would that be? Looks amazing.
Reminds me of tafe... My oxy welding skills are non existent.
strong like ox......
The UTS is not as high as a tig weld, but it will allow a lot more flex before cracking.
When we used to prepare bikes for the TT we found that brackets tig welded on would crack during race week, but if we bronze welded them they were fine.
TZ steel frames would crack in various places, re-weld them with tig and they would crack again, fix em with bronze weld and they'd last forever.
tony what is the gas flux they speck of with this type bronze weld ?
is it some for of sheld gas injected into the mix ?
btw people bronze weld is diff to brazeing, tho both can be used on frames
i have some frame mods I hope to be doing with the help of a freind(much more exp than me) on a drag bike
I will be useing tig as its the way rest of the frame is made (cr mo) and is what Im most exp with but hope on my own stuff to have
a good look at bronze welding.
Might need to buy you a beer or two and chat your ear off again tony :-) that and have a look at the new bat cave lol
No worries mate, you've got my number, just give me a call when you're ready.
Gas flux . The acetelene is passed through a can containing some stuff (can't remember what) it mixes with this gas and comes out in the flame. There is no need to use any flux ( coated rod or from a container)
It gives a clean weld with no residue to clean off.
Bones
funny you should say that just found that today :-) one was branded jetflux and yep one thing they said is it is narsty stuff
but no residue thanks bones :-)
I've never used gas flux, but it has to be better than trying to clean rock hard flux off everything.
I have seen bronze weld done with tig but the guy showing me wouldn't tell me how he set the machine up. Had a bit of a play with it myself but couldn't get it to work properly. Might have another look when I have a bit more time.
