    Never owned a GSX1400....

    Untill tonight.......

    Used to be Chris's, (Red_ZX)

Fork brace, Full Yoshi, Power Commander, Rad Guard,
Rack and Box, 4 seperate K&N type air filters, Flat bars,
Pazzo (or similar) levers, after market bar clamp etc etc.

Had a light drop on the left.
    Needs clocks, maybe tank.
    Go's OK.

Started giving it a clean up and doing a few jobs.

It came with 4 brand new DNA oval filters,
what i normaly call "K&N pod type"
not sure if I should fit them ?
Might wait untill I find someone who has.

Had a look at the levers,
    they are Pazzo's not El-cheapo's.

Yoshi Cylone should polish up OK.
End can has a bolt hole for a baffle.
Not sure if you can buy them or if
i'll just try and make one up.

Cam cover has two square plates
held on by off-set allen bolts.
Looks like it had some sort of emmission
polution trap thats been removed and
    blanked off ?

    Just needs clocks.
Am I right there are two different types ?
    Early and late models ?
Going back to the UK soon, might look there
as they were quite popular, or maybe go aftermarket.
Not sure genuine are going to be within my budget.

    I like it.
    Its growing on me....

Where on the cam cover are the block off plates?

The instruments are different 01-04 and 05 to 08. The only difference I can see is the bigger keyhole for the immobiliser, but they're probably different inside.

Not mine, just a google pic.

These are missing and have blanking plates.
I take it the P.A.I.R's system has been removed.
Cant see its any use other that in getting the bikes complianced,
by all reports its an improvement without it.

Very nice bikes these always fancied one as my stupid hip gets sore after hitting a Bambi once.

imo the clocks look fine but depends if you like a cleaner look, a quick cheaper example would be danmoto one
    LCD one looks sweet

Thanks Drew. Will keep those in mind.

It has an issue with the battery loseing charge.
Dont think it battery or charging system related.
Even with a flat battery you can jump start it, use it, and it charges up OK.
Leave it a few days and its totaly flat.

Both Chris and Large say it could be due to the smashed clocks and the
internal circuit board being damaged and open to the weather.

I've pulled both the blue multi-plugs to disconect the clocks and charged
the battery up. Will try it in a few days, see if it changes anything.
Theres a bit of electrickery in the clocks but it still seems to start and
    run OK without them.

Flicking through a few old mags I found a 14 with "Koso" clocks.
    Google took me here....
    http://www.digital-speedos.co.uk/rx2...nction-7-p.asp
    and
    http://www.digital-speedos.co.uk/rx2...screen-2-p.asp

Found a couple of new/unused Staintune baffles in my collection.
Put one in the Yoshi. Bit too small and not real good looking but
made a difference so it'll do as a temporary fix.

    Almost a week later.....
Bike spin's over like crazy and fires up easy.
    Thats the electrical fault found.

That is correct Tony - sounds like the PAIRS has been removed - it is of no use on the 1400 anyway.

The bike is looking great - one mod I would do is replace the ignition rotor with a 4 degree advanced one, or at least check to see if it has been done. That makes a difference on these bikes. Pic shows the original on left and the advanced rotor on right...

I will also check to see what I have left over from mine - no use to me now!!
