    Shit! been a while!

Found something worth blowing my tax return on, a "holy grail" moment...

A dual 40mm dellorto set up!

After watching USA ebay for ages and finding nothing these turn up here in Adelaide.

Set up for a XS1100 yamaha but I found a Z9 manifold kit, carbs look to be unused, no fuel stains or butchered bolts/nuts, no play in anything, got them on with those home made manifolds (pg 2) atm looks sweet!

    How lucky are you!!
I built a pair of one into two inlet manifolds to suit ONE 45mm Weber, and used it in my long ago sold Katana dragbike. There's nothing more frustrating for another dragracer to see than when you take the little lid off and change your jetting in a minute!
The carb used to sit in the batterybox area,[the battery went into the headlight recess] and all you could see from the side was the pipes! Take the seat off, instant access. An 1170 motor and 45mm weber and 7000 revs would still do mid 11's @ 110mph....
The squirter pump would jet twin fuel streams for 6 feet across the room, and made for instant grunt on the bike, WAY better than CV's. Pity I didn't get the spark right, and kept blaming the Weber for the engine breaking down above 7........just not enough battery was the problem, stupidly the Weber was replaced by 33mm smoothbores, and it ran 1.5secs slower! You will need a low pressure fuel pump to feed them, more than likely.
Great project EFE lookin forward to seeing the finished product.

Cheers Benz! I must be on a bit of a roll as I picked up a few bits on ebay tonight which included a clutch cover embossed with a big eagle, ultra rare/tasteless but pure 70's LOL!

Bit of a prob with the fuel tap fouling the top of carb so thinking of fitting an outlet on the tank in place of the tap then feeding the fuel into a small swirl pot where the airbox was and having the pump push from there, reckon that would be ok?

Any idea on what type of pump/regulator set up to use, the mota will be mild one.

I used a small lift pump, I think it came from an FZ Yamaha, but you could use any low pressure pump to do the task.
Your swirl pot idea sounds like a plan. That big eagle clutch cover sounds pretty "American Graffiti"
You might want to fit up some hoses to the floatbowl breather holes, or you may end up smelling fuel all the time, not a big problem on a drag bike, but on a streeter it could be a bit risky on a hot day's ride.

The old BigCC Spondon 1428cc Turbo nitrous Zed. A cracking bike, I remember working late nights to rebuild it ready for racing at the Isle of Man several years ago, and having to pinch the flywheel stator from my MadCow Zed as this one had lost its magnets. The bike ended up suffering another nitrous blow up, and was sold along with a huge stock of spares to a guy in Leeds who still owns it believe, I would love to buy it from him and bring it upto date with ablow through system rather than the draw through. He bought several of the Iconic ex BigCC bikes including th Katana and the XJR1640cc which is now owned by a mate of mine ( although it's off the road at the moment having eaten one of the lobes off the exhaust cam on number 3 cylinder)

So I've thrown together another Z9 with bits scored off egay over the last couple of years.

Take a Z900a4 frame, put a Z9 stem in the bottom clamp of a Fireblade front end then fit a JMC swingarm with a 5.5 ZX7 rim and add a few rough condition stock bits and you get a rat muscle bike!

I kinda like the rat bike theme so I think I'll keep it that way.

and what you don't see is what I don't have, except the head! lol!
