    Large's New ZX10 Project

After umming and ahhing for too long, I decided that I couldn't bring myself to chop up my GSXR to make a real streetfighter.

So I went to the auctions with the intention of bidding on either the 03 or 05 Gixxer thous they had. Then I saw the two ZX10Rs they had and added them to my bid list.

Anyway to cut a long story short I came home with this

It's an 04 model with only 18000ks on the clock and as a bonus it starts and runs.

can't start them at the auctions, so just got to look carefully and hope it's ok.

It looks fine, pretty sure it had just been layed over without hitting anything. The 06 ZX10 went for 3500 but it had taken a big hit on the forks so maybe dodgy

    5100 +6.6% comission[V] so a bit under $5500 altogether.

I emailed him and offered 5500 for that 03GSXR but he said he needed more than 6 for it. Then yesterday he emailed me back and said lets do a deal....toooo late. Not a bad buy at 5500, considering the one at the auctions went for 6000 + 6.6%

I nearly came home with the 05 GSXR1000 too but stopped bidding at 3900 (it went for 4000)

It had a hole rubbed through the tank, the subframe was twisted and one of the fork inners was gouged, so you'd need another fork and tank, but that wouldn't cost more than a 1000 or so.

I'm going to go back and get a trackbike from there one day

Couple of things I liked about it were it's already got wavy discs and the tiny dashboard on it.

I'll have to bring it with me next time I go to the IOM Frank

Starting with the single sider with 17x7 wheel, beefy tripples, a home made facemask with a mouth for the ram air, and an interesting seat exhaust design I'm working on.

Hi Large.. Nice ride with low klm's. Should look great fightered.
Cant wait to see what you do with it.

    Question:-
Is it classed as a repairable writeoff? If so what has to be done before you can get it re-registered? Engineers report, etc!
I'd like to do the same but I've heard it's getting very hard to re-register crashed bikes

    Thanks for any info...

Yeah repairable writoff so It'll need an id inspection, which I was told yesterday is now 450$

Fimp has just gone through the process so might be able to help a bit more
