thats awsome work darren love the paint my only suggestion would be maybe bring those lights closer to the headstock but thats just my two cents mate top work so far dude

Thanks guys.
Yeh I thought that about the lights too but I've got to mount the original dash above them and it's quite big so it may balance out.
I'm also toying with the idea of a small dark perspex screen that curves around the dash and goes far enough down to meet the top light. Slamdog gave me that idea.
The whole head area is a headache at the moment. Gotta route the wires etc. and make it look minimal. The problem with going naked is that everything is...naked. Gotta tidy up soo much because everything gets seen.
It's given me more respect for the experienced people such as ExBen and many others here.
it aint easy thats for sure any one can make a bike a naked but very few have the patience to make a very nice naked like you have done mate and i know it sounds like more and more dosh but have you thought about an aftermarket dash rather than the stock one only cos you have come this far it would be a shame to finish it off in a hurry if you know what i mean but thats just me mate its your build not mine and it looks sweet btw

I'm hearing you.
I blew the bugget about $2000 ago.
I'm willing to try the standard dash and see how it comes up.
Got a bellypan to fit also and that will make the bike look stockier/taller.
I may just have to put up with a few mistakes for a while until I have more money to do things properly.
I appreciate the feedback though.
Here's a better side-on look. I'll be adding Acerbis handguards with LED strip indicators mounted onto the front of them.
Here's something I discovered for those who don't know and are thinking about painting their frame like I did - piping, wiring and cabling blend in with a black frame but stand out like dogs balls against a colour.
It's this reason that's making the headstem area look messy at the moment. A facia shroud of some sort would hide it all but it wouldn't be naked enough for me.
I'll get there but probably not in time for AFR, unfortunately.
That's a nice little toy you're gonna have there
Thats a hell of alot of work you've pone since the pallet pics.
Nice one Darren, your gonna have fun on that !!!
The bike looks fantastic !!
I taste so good you'l want the recipe.
now that you have added those hand guards mate the lights and all that blend in alot better forget my previous statment dude that looks fuckin tuff[}]

Very nice setup. I'm just getting into the process of turning my 06R1 into something similar. Will start a post when i get it back from the mech.
very tidy!! i like the idea of the front indicators[^]
I like that mate. Again you're doing something different. I'm seeing a trend of people picking ideas off other guys and twisitng them to suit their own needs, and in doing so bringing a whole new look to it. The way we're going here, Australia will have a Streetfighter style of it's own soon.
Cheers guys. Good to know I'm on the right track.
Si, the trend I've observed over the past 12 months or so that got me into this racket is that we tend to go for short and stocky but racey.
A sort of MotoGP look without the fairing.
What do others think?
nailed it in one i reckon bear that sums up the look i was sort of going for cos i like the short look but i also like things that look evil hence my ride but this rocket of yours looks sensational mate keep up the good work

the handgaurds do pull it all together
will mate squeezing through traffic a bit easier on the knuckles too
i say slap it together and bring it to the fools run anyways mate,
not everyone has to have a show-standard bling machine
(i sure as fuck never will [}])
Rev the fucker!!!!!
True fimp. I'll be bringing my bog stock bandit down. that thing already shows mine up ten fold, just get it regoed and "come on down!" mate.
that paint job looks sensational mate! get it too the fools run!
Getting the bike ready may not be a factor - the band I play in has scored a gig on the 29th.
Good and bad.
Latest update - getting close to completion now. Just have to wire the front, paint the belly pan and make up a rear number-plate jigger-thingy-wots-holds-it, bleed the brakes, calibrate the speedo healer etc etc. It never seems to end...
awsome looks the goods mate keep the pics coming
