No pine in my pallet, thankyou. Only Teakwood.

I was surprised at how easy these R1's come apart. I'm not a roady expert by any means but I'm enjoying playing with this thing. I've stripped the whole thing down to the engine and am getting ready to respray stuff and add personal touches. It's a lot bigger than my mechano set.

A late model r1 is a fine point to start a fighter project. I bought a gsx 1100 81 years ago in boxes and on a pallet. Had it going in a couple of weekends.

I have gone the other way. Putting R1 04-06 bits on my 88 slingshot.

Here's the Pallet Bike so far. Got quite a lot of painting to do and going to shorten the tail end a bit.

    Project Pallet Bike update:

The painting is taking forever and some parts are taking their time in arriving but here's an example of the over-all theme.
I've expanded on a style some of you would've seen in a magazine not long ago, which was copied from a Fox MX jersey.

Ran out of red tape but you can see where it's going.
Some air-brushing needed to finish it off and make it a bit dirtier.

Nice work mate. Haven't seen any detailed paint jobs in ages. This will be interesting.

gday and welcome Bear. All good pallet bikes should have a single sided Virago shaft drive conversion. go hard.

I thought hard about flat black (very cheap and easy) but after many close calls with dipstick drivers while commuting on my Motard, I decided that I want to be seen and heard.

So I'm gonna light this R1 up like a Christmas tree without looking too pooncey and I got GYTR mufflers for it. [)]

I drew a line at American bling, though. I'm using colour instead of chrome and polish.
