At 1150cc's I think his hp is high, higher than he probably is.

BUT at the price it would be a good buy, if it's as tidy as he says. And it would eat a GSXR in a straight line, even give a Busa a run for it's money up to 240/250.

If I had the spare cash at the moment I'd be up there in a flash (wonder if he'd throw in an ounce or 2?)

The GSX1100 EF was the biggest torque monster to come out of Japan till the release of the Blackbird, and with little work 135-140 hp was easily attained, with an even bigger torque rating. What did them in on the race track was the width of the motor, a full 6 inches wider than the GSXR1100, plus and older style frame.
The drag/sidecar guys went after the motors for over a decade for damned good reason.

And Rexie, our women only leak because we over fill them guess you wouldn't know anything about that would ya [8D].

And the mighty 9fighter can still hold it's own, including holding onto it's body work mate

I have rode a few and really like them,
But ride one back to back with anything recent
(and in a similar state of tune) and you soon
find that they get put in their place.

    I had a play on Bri's new GSXR1000 a few weeks back,
Sorry to disapoint you folk, but the world has moved
on in the last 25 years!

(i'd still like to have a mint one though [8D])

    Yes and NO
They're still a solid as fuck motor, and can be beefed up real easy, you can even get 1500cc kits for'em still. And then they will launch off the line better than most (the Busa is better of course, but then it is exceptional after all, and could be called the modern version of the same bike). But their width pretty much restricts them to straight line work these days.
But even I will admit that I am looking at a GSXR (oil burner) for my next bike, I love playing in the twisties too much.

I used to have an EF that had a 1200 kit and while it went pretty hard, it was no real match for the more modern stuff. The drag boys still love em because they have roller bearing cranks (strong), and being air-cooled means you can bore them out to around 1600 without too many dramas (no water jackets). I know a guy who has a bored and stroked EF that is just 2 over litres.....
