I certainly prefer the look of the earlier ones too. I think after 99 was where they started to get all fussy and shiny with em.

So am I right in thinking the 1200 Bandit moteur is a 1127 Gsxr donk fattened and detuned?

Photo is of a B6 not a B12 but both very similar,
    several parts will swop.

Easy to spot early 6's from '12's.
    6 motor silver - 12 motor black.
6 rear peg hangers welded/painted - 12 bolt on alloy.
    6 has 2 clocks - 12 has 3 (fuel gauge in centre)

I think the 6 tank will even fit the 12, but there's no
sender for the fuel guage in it.

And YES Cam's and Carbs and a good pipe bring to 12 back
up to closer to "R" spec.

    Big Downside to B12's is the sh*tty W*nky Cr*p clutch !
OK with a stock bike, or just a can, but start to make some big
bhp and its "Slippy Slip slip" Been there, Done That.
Only real answer is to Bin the 2-flat-plate spring job and
convert to a traditional coil spring GSXR jobbie [8D]

If there was a brand new 1996/97 unfaired UK spec Bandit in
a bike shop I would walk past 99% of new stuff to get to it [8D]

    I can just imagine it,
JMC getting loads of orders for 50mmm UNDER-length swingarms
I always thought that along with THAT engine, the way the old
Bandits mis-behaved were their biggest selling points [8D]

    SPOT ON [8D]
    Couldnt agree more.

Was offered a VERY good deal on the current shape B12 today,
Brand new, 2 year warantee etc.
Think it was 'cos Suzuki have plenty of the current model in and
know there's a new shape out very soon.
Would have signed on the line had it been the 1st shape.
