    Lemons I've Seen Lately

I've had an ad, for a project bike, on the net for a few weeks, and here goes

Friday night I gets a call, and he was gushing about a GSX11ET that he had with.....
Powder Coated Frame and Brake Carriers
Resprayed tank and panels (DARK BRG color)
    1166 Wiseco kit
    EFE Carbs
    Stage 1 cam
Braided Brake Lines with aftermarket polished Master cylinder.
Good tyres, chain etc etc etc.

So on Sunday I drops in for a look and found.....
    1980 GSX1100ET
No Dash, just a speedo on plate, tacho drive from Head broken.
White painted frame and carriers - Might impress the Klan, not me.
Rest of paint - ok I suppose
    1166 Wiseco kit (yep - I presume)
Cam, siting in the back of the shed mate - Oh OK useful?
Katana carbs, not EFE, he reckons.
    Tyres/chain etc - so so.

Fired over bike - instant response - good!
Check Oil cooler - you know. Which brand? more like what fucking oil cooler?
And this guy is in the process of telling me how fast the previous owner (the builder) was able to go around the local race track. Hmmmm rev engine smoke, rev engine harder LOTTA FUCKIN SMOKE. The tit had built this lovely engine (it still felt tight) taken it out onto a race track AND COOKED IT (Or at minimum glazed the bores), then sold it the fool I was dealing with for $3000
It also had a Honda left hand switch block so no choke cable and nowhere to put one.
The fuel tap lever was missing.
    Rear bodywork rails missing.
The front brake lever came all the way to the handlebar, needed smaller valves in it apparently.
The clutch wouldn't allow selection of any gear except 1st when idling.
Somebody had engraved "Too Fast For You" or some such crap into the Left engine cover.
The forks had pitting showing under close examination (no leaks though yet)

We got down to $500, then I called myself an idiot, and walked away.

Would have made a great fighter, apart from the 'blemishes'.
