Ya need grunt or a bit a clutch.
I do not use clutch.I jet my engine rich off idle then she leans off.
here we go,piss 1st gear off & get er` at about 5rpm(running constant)next snap the go bit as ya slowly stand-up.
This allows ya to not loop out & clean running for the next few hundred mtrs`[] (oil cooled old girl)[}
Mate leavin a trail of plastic bits down the road has got me a bit gun shy here "looped too many bikes" how do u keep a foot on the rear brake as ur standing up without applying the said rear stopper ???????

I watched the gp last night bloody fantastic and after the race on the victory lap Vale (the mighty) is doin stand up wheelies with his right leg flappin around like a can-can dancer. oh well I guess he was in France.

i was talking to a friend about stand ups and the brake issue.
i was thinking of useing a hydraulic clutch unit with a remote fill relocated and have it set under the front brake lever so u can keep in touch of the rear brake at your finger tips insted of trying to cock the old leg up when its about to go past balance point.
grabbing the wrong lever then becomes another issue i guess
Mundy built this idea years ago,works but takes sum gettin used to.
just buy a thumb brake for the rear.cannot get them confused then.
punched up a link`d brake arangement,in 91.so I could hold onta the thing.SWEET on black vynill.dirt was a challenge.won the serie's,DUUNO how?
Just do a wheelie sitting then when the wheel is up, just stand up its quite easy, the other way scares the hell out of me.

i do my stand ups by putting my left foot back on the pillion peg, seems to make it easier. then clutch it. i was taught to always clutch it using brake to control aswell as throttle. or u can do it however you ike and run a handbrake.
