795 is a bit harsh, did you ring ferrari? its all good 2 buy an O/S kit but they dont exactly bolt in.Add another $500 at least to get it sleeved/flowed/jetted,but wack the new cams in 1st coz a simple lumpy grind(750) may be all the bitch needs. but dont listen 2 me bro.im just a freak.

she is a bit tired bore wise so i was thinking the wiseco 1132 or 1155 kit but at $795.00 isn`t that a bit steep when i can buy pistons rings and gaskets for my 307 chev for virtually the same price.pardon the obvious quote but that is 4cyl vs 8cyl.I want to do both cams and pistons, I will port it myself.she`s a two valve head so unsure about the 18000km pistons and would rather new thanx anyway mad.I guess just keep looking for a better price.

Yea. Back in the early 90's my mate did the same to his old GS1000. The thing went like stink in a straight line and sounded great through the old Harris can but get to a corner and you were screwed. It wasn't meant to go that hard and the frame turned to jelly. He ended up selling it.......

yeah know what you mean about the handling thing or lack of.Actually just want to freshen it up as its not a real good bike for going all out.Unless you like straight line jollies, then you should probably stick to tin tops.got a vibration I think its in the shaft, getting worse too.I suppose all those burnouts have caught up with it.Can anyone suggest where to get this fixed.and what should my vacuum guages read at idle, and 2000rpm.Thanx.[V][?]

The vibes should be easily taken care of with a set of new u joints on the driveshaft. I wouldn't recommend porting it on your own but blueprinting the ports is easy to do.

dino if it is the unis in the drive dont get original. go to a drivetrain shop that does tailshafts. i got my shaft on the z1300 rebuilt for 30.00. kawasaki wanted 695.00 for the new shaft.
