I used it as striping on my fighter. It's durable, but it doesn't like being stretched or bent to go around curves.

And if the surface isn't perfectly smooth, you will see EVERY defect. That part was disappointing (I thought it would have been better at hiding minor imperfections that it was)

You'll need to get the right type of vinyl, the stuff they use for car wraps. It can be heated and strecthed around curves without putting stretch marks in it. There is an art to it but if you've never applied large areas of vinyl before, prepare to do a lot of swearing. You'll need a proper squeegy as well. Just found this online as well, may help: http://www.signindustry.com/vinyl/ar...Pt3.php3#story

I used it a few weeks ago to cover the shock reservoir and fuel injection covers on my 14. The pieces I covered were small and not complicated shapes but I figure if you have a little patience and a hairdryer you should be good to cover anything.

    That Ducati looks pretty good.

There's a lot of vinyl out there and 3M Di-Noc is supposed to be the best. All you need is a heat gun, sharp stanley knife and a bit of plastic about the same size as a credit card to stretch and smooth out the vinyl. The best prices are the US of course. The same stuff in Oz is 2 or 3 times the price. I got my carbon fibre vinyl and a few tools from these guys in Florida. http://www.carbonfibervinyl.com/carbon_fiber_vinyl.html. The stuff arrived in a big cardboard tube and only took about a week. The heat gun was about $40 dollars at Bunnings. Just make sure the gun is a variable heat type. As Hyofighter said, watch a shit load of videos .

My brother had a spare set of white plastics for the VMax and decided to get them 3M C/F wrapped. All up 2 guards and a tank were $180 and the guy did a great job. It comes in 9 different colours and finishes now.

bought a roll of 3m di-noc in white carbon finish

tried wrapping my phone case, worked ok. needs better contact adhesive to get it around the tight corners and stay there.
something like a bike tank would be a piece-o-cake i think

here is the auction i got it from
    http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/270724425...84.m1439.l2649

took 2weeks to get here but otherwise ok

it looks pretty realistic i guess (for white carbon lol)
