I think Robmac did the plastic side covers on his gsx14 in it mate you could try asking him.
I used it as striping on my fighter. It's durable, but it doesn't like being stretched or bent to go around curves.
And if the surface isn't perfectly smooth, you will see EVERY defect. That part was disappointing (I thought it would have been better at hiding minor imperfections that it was)
This is my mates streetfighter - it used to be red. All done with matt black wrap
fuck thats hard to spot!
Rev the fucker!!!!!
You'll need to get the right type of vinyl, the stuff they use for car wraps. It can be heated and strecthed around curves without putting stretch marks in it. There is an art to it but if you've never applied large areas of vinyl before, prepare to do a lot of swearing. You'll need a proper squeegy as well. Just found this online as well, may help: http://www.signindustry.com/vinyl/ar...Pt3.php3#story
i bought some wrap in carbon print , its not to hard to use , i have only done a few smaller pieces a large area may take some doing but its not hard , i watch a million and a half you tube vids before attempting to do it myself
I used it a few weeks ago to cover the shock reservoir and fuel injection covers on my 14. The pieces I covered were small and not complicated shapes but I figure if you have a little patience and a hairdryer you should be good to cover anything.
That Ducati looks pretty good.
come on conrad duh the bike was a katana !quote:Originally posted by fimpBIKES

There's a lot of vinyl out there and 3M Di-Noc is supposed to be the best. All you need is a heat gun, sharp stanley knife and a bit of plastic about the same size as a credit card to stretch and smooth out the vinyl. The best prices are the US of course. The same stuff in Oz is 2 or 3 times the price. I got my carbon fibre vinyl and a few tools from these guys in Florida. http://www.carbonfibervinyl.com/carbon_fiber_vinyl.html. The stuff arrived in a big cardboard tube and only took about a week. The heat gun was about $40 dollars at Bunnings. Just make sure the gun is a variable heat type. As Hyofighter said, watch a shit load of videos .

My brother had a spare set of white plastics for the VMax and decided to get them 3M C/F wrapped. All up 2 guards and a tank were $180 and the guy did a great job. It comes in 9 different colours and finishes now.
