looking like a transformer there Chris, nice work.
Hit that tank with some rattle can matt black and you're done mate!
So, I started doing some work again. I have bought a few bits over the last couple of months. A TLR top rad ( new from china via Melbourne for $113 which I had the inlet moved from the left side to the right by my local rad shop. Also bought 2 TLR rad fans and an sp1 oil cooler which is 4 rows instead of the vfr's 2 rows.

slip in the TLR rad and cable tie it in position and it looks like this
the second pic also shows my awesome BXP risers that i bought off ben earlier this year, and my driven carbon bars. With the rad in it's basic position, both the TLR fans should fit, and it won't sit much lower than the standard oil cooler did.
The new sp1 opil cooler will be mounted lower down, a bit behind the headers.
That paragraph makes it sound like it's almost done, but i need to make brackets for the rad and oil cooler, figure out the wiring for the fans and temp sender that turns the fans on, and get new lines for the oil cooler made up. A bit left to do, but happy with the progress from the hour and a bit i did last night.

looks tidyer with the new rad.
really changes the look of the front dont it I like it
Nice work mate, tidy's it up nicely
Ladies and Gentelmen, take my advise. "Pull down your pants and slide on the ice."
Yea, good move Chris; it makes a massive difference.
Glad i kept trying to figure it out.
Just like the front end swap, i couldn't find any finished pics of something that actually worked. Lots of pics of different setups that looked too close to the front wheel for my liking, but i couldn't find anything had been done that actually worked.
Apart from swapping the inlet from the left to the right, it should be good, and work properly since it faces the right bloody way.
Made a quick bracket for the oil cooler last night so i can figure out what changes i need to make to the oil lines. Now i can work on the bracket for the rad.

You're a good man Chris!
I had been waiting on some bits and pieces to arrive, and trying to get some time here and there in the garage.
I bought some silicone hoses from the UK, hoses are nice, but service, delivery and getting the vat back were a pain in the arse. For Father's Day, I asked mish to buy me 2 temp sensor adapters to put in the hoses so I can plug in the fan sensor and the new water temp sensor. $7 + $2 postage each for alloy ones, instead of $40 for ace well or koso ones.
Some pics...

Those shrouds look good!
I was considering something similar when I had the VTR.
