    since NFR is coming....
new 2004 model tank fits. waiting on $20 worth or gaskets for the fuel pump and sensor. And $100 worth of stupid in tank fuel filter. The pump was such a pain in the arse to take out i though i should change the filter so i never have to think about it again.
I have new velocity stacks so i can make dual stacks for it. Which only fit after i modify my airbox a bit. And i have a 10 row oil cooler to install that is 10 times bigger than stock to make up for my smaller rad.
I still need a pink slip and rego - only 1 month out of rego at the moment.

swapped the fuel pump and sensor, and changed the in tank fuel filter from one tank to the other. $20 for gaskets, $100 for the fuel filter.
Bolted the new tank onto the hinge, just need to connect the fuel lines again and the new tank is on.

So, changed the side stand, changed the coolant hose to an alloy 60* bend (much neater), lots of other minor shit, filled the coolant, put in 5L of petrol.
in neutral, clutch in, and CLICK, no power. Dead battery. enough to power indicators and headlights, not enough to make it start.
Antigravity lithium on the way. Almost twice the CCA of the 5 year old motobatt, and 1kg instead of 4.

Almost ready for pink slip. hopefully. And a shitty pic that happened to be in my phone.

And, since it was fathers day recently, a story about my Dad.
He died when I was 4. This is not the point of the story.
In the background of the pic, there is a big silver drawer unit. That was my dads tool chest. It's not actually a tool chest, its a file card drawer from a library or office or something, but it's 40 or 50 years old, and still looks the same as my childhood memories.
Now its full of my random shit, instead of his random shit.

He rode as well (he owned a black shadow, and my uncle had a rapide). He'd be proud that i love bikes, but embarrassed by my half arsed workmanship - he looked after the diesel engines in merchant ships before he came out to aus.
