yeah, seb put one on his, so when i knocked a hole in my tank, I bought the later model. It looks much better on a fightered vfr than the 2000 model.

And yeah, dad must have loved that bike - he brought the receipt with him from N Ireland when he moved to Aus. Wish he brought the bike to. I have the receipt, but the bike would have been better.

I fitted the battery last night. managed to break a very thin earth wire for something that i will have to trace and see what is was, however..
it fired up and made brooom broooom noises last night.

Considering it hasn't run is maybe 5 months, and hasn't had a petrol tank for 3 of them, i was thoroughly impressed that it started on the second stab of the starter button. The battery certainly packs plenty of punch.
A lumpy, rumbly V4 with very open pipes waking from a coma kind of start, but it settled into a vague rhythm after that.

Riding my brothers tuono while my MT09 gets new wheels has made me excited for the V4 noise again.
    Pink slip here i come.

What battery did you get? I'm looking for something with plenty of grunt but still smaller than the OEM.

the SP1 oil cooler (twice as big as the vfr one) and custom lines are off so i can sell it all to a guy in Canberra.
I have a thicker 10 row cooler (10 times bigger than stock, basically) and fittings ready to go on.
Make 2 brackets, mount it, then measure for new lines, and done.
It'll be half old school oil-cooled and half new school water-cooled. That should keep temps under control.

the 10 row was too big, but the new 7 row is just right.
Rode it to work today, one of the lines started leaking. So, a tow, left work early, had another line made up (one i made was fine, one was fucked) and fitted it back up again.
Test rode it around the block a few times. At night. Checking for oil leaks. Not smart, but it seems to be ok enough to commute on it again tomorrow.

And the er6n headlight is great.
Michelle has named it the vortex as it sucks all my time and money.

the 7 row oil cooler. M8 bolts through existing tabs, some 50x50 ally angles that the guys use at work to put ally doors together, and some flatbar.
And a hacksaw. Need a hacksaw.

I'd like to see the cooler rubber mounted, but it'll probably be ok.
