    Battle of the twins

No I don't mean your balls rubbing together when you go commando...

I'm thinking about the next SF project and wanted to build a twin.. but don't know which make to go with so I thought I'd throw this out for a bit of feedback.

Advise on the pro's and con's of the bike and building of SV1000 vs' VTR vs' TL etc would be appreciated.

Open to all suggestions Kev. Just want to get some info on peoples experience in building the different twins - so looking for stuff like limitations on build, issues faced, performance of the bike etc.

Go for a TL mate they are the best choice from the 3 you listed IMO

Side rads on vtr's are a pain unless you get one like what nudie has mounted on the front of his, sv's are gutless compared to the TL the only downfall with the TL's in my book is they need some suspension work to get them to stop trying to kill you but that's just my personal experience

If I was buying a twin, and thank god im not...[)]

It would have to be a TL1000S.

Most of the others are fragile, overpriced or underpowered and
the SV is just the soft-option. A lot of folk have spent a lot
of time sorting out the TL's "interesting" side and there's quite
a few ways to fix it.

Yeah, TL1000S unless a real bargain TL1000R came along.

TL1000S had a rotary style rear damper fitted,
the theory was there wasnt room for a conventional
spring/shock behind the motor with the geometry/wheelbase
    that Suzuki wanted.

Didnt work well, some folk lived with it, others didn't live for long!
It was know to cause tank slappers and had a few riders off.
The one's I have ridden (stock) were fine but I wasnt pushing them hard.

There are MANY options to convert it back to a more conventional system.

This gave them a bit of a reputation for their "evil" handling
but I wouldnt let it put me off. Most have already been modded.
