    "not another Spondon thread"

Mate, still better than another black GSXR... no offence Gix.

I payed about AUS $12.500,- incl airfreight and import duty (9.800 for the frame kit). You have to declare it at the Aussie customs and pay the appr. 1.800 import duty, if you want to have it registered as a Spondon in Oz.
Unless you do a dodgy and just swap the frames (and compliance plates, VIN). I don't think your insurance, the cops or the department of transport will like that, if you have a crash or whatever.

I really would think twice before you get anything cheap or you not sure about!!!
In my humble opinion, do it right the first time and don't waste your money on shit. Because it will cost you more in the end.

Why not give the locals a go?!

    PS.
Chalk, I was wondering about you. You actually "act normal" lately.

I think the way to a cheap spondon would be 2nd hand, would you not bypass the tax? As long as it hasn't had a turbo in it it will be fine as know they twist under big bhp. Also been told that harris's handle much better but give me the sweary bob any day. Have you seen steelheart. izax, moko, i love the moko's, Ive never seen one in the flesh though. Think I need to get over to fighterama!

Just try finding a 2nd hand one in Aus Cavvy. And an Ebay from UK, you wouldn't know real condition etc till it turned up, assuming it actually did turn up.

And that why after years of thinking about it I suggested BME in the first place - lets face it if Spondons were US made with our dollar at 80c i think there would be quite a few out here already, but UK ponds - owwwwchhhhh.

Pity there arnt any good US frames I am aware of, cause they all end up on faggot monkey bar Vtwin machines

I don't have a problem going BME over Spondon, after all EVERYONE goes Spondon these days

Could well be the first true blue Aussie style streetfighters. The Germans have their duck's arse style, The Yanks are going stretched out bling, the Poms have the ubiquitous stripped black gixxer.

    Chalk, there is the opportunity!

As I mentioned earlier, there are plenty of cheap-ish second hand (or new) PSS/ Rau, Moko, Egli, Hauenstein etc in Germany for sale. As a complete bike or as a frame only. Surely, nobody in Oz will have one! There are all TUV Certified and all you have to pay is the transport (shipping 150 bucks per cubic metre) and import duty. A bit of paper work and it's done!
According to the German fellas, there as good as any Spondon, Martek or any Brit build frame.

For me, If they would build frames for V-Twins, other than Hardley D, I would have got one... because they are very high standard build and prooven performers.
